Began class with a devotion that focused on the morning chapel message of this month's Spiritual Discipline, Worship. We read Joshua 1:1-9, highlighting verse 7,"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go." We discussed how three times the Lord told Joshua, "Be strong and courageous!" The Lord promised Joshua He would not forsake him. With His presence, we are able to accomplish much!
We then continued with the remaining Science presentations. Well done Jordyn, Miah, Bea, and Israel. Grades will be given out next week.

Shared an excellent report that was submitted by Isabella B. on Aesop by reading it aloud to the class. Great job, Bella! Keep it up!
Two students read their reports on Brothers Grimm, while 2 other students took note on the board of the various dress-ups and vocabulary they heard.
Picked up Lesson 15, Hans Christain Anderson by reviewing the Goals for this new Lesson. One goal is that Students will now be writing TWO paragraphs for their report, each paragraph representing a different subtopic of our main topic, Hans Christian Andersen.
We worked on the style / dress-up exercises on pp. 112-113.
Watched this educational video on Hans Christian Andersen before reading the story. Students were then given 10min to beginning working on their 2 paragraph KWO on p. 113.
Gathered in a circle as I prayed over today's prayer requests prior to dismissing for the week. Each week I am so grateful for the Students' willingness so share their requests!
Thank you, Sebastien, for taking the initiative to vaccum the room without being asked!
Complete the Style Practice exercises on pp. 112-113 that you did not finish in class
Continue & complete your KWO for Hans Chritian Andersen on p. 113 using the important or interesting facts you highlighted in class.
Using the KWO’s tell the facts back to someone. If a note is unclear, fix it. For the clincher, repeat or reflect the words on the topic line.
Using your KWO for your FIRST PARAGRAPH and your style practice work, begin writing about Hans Christian Andersen. Follow the checklist. When you reach the end of your KWO, create a clincher sentence that repeats or reflects the key words placed on the topic line beside Roman numeral I.
Using your KWO for your SECOND PARAGRAPH and your style practice work, begin writing about Hans Christian Andersen. Follow the checklist. When you reach the end of your KWO, create a clincher sentence that repeats or reflects the key words placed on the topic line beside Roman numeral II.
Use one to three key words from the final sentence of the second paragraph to create a catchy title. Follow the title rule.
Check off each item on the checklist as you complete it. Underline the dress-ups in each paragraph that are required on the checklist. Highlight or bold two or three key words that repeat or reflect in the topic and clincher sentences.
Turn in your rough draft to your editor (ie parent / homeschool teacher) with the completed checklist attached
When your editor hands back your rough draft, make the needed changes.
Paperclip or staple the checklist, final draft, rough draft, and KWO together
3-hole punch your packet of work and bring to class next week for credit
Prepare for next week’s Lesson by reading pp 116-117. Feel free to also take a look at the pictures on p. 118 and think about the Brain-Helping questions on the right.
