Opened class with this Lent Devotional after reading Luke 9:23-28 and discussing the transfiguration of Jesus. Our highlight verse today was, "Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.," (Ecclesiastes 4:12). We discussed the importance of building community and I challenged the Students to lean on trusted friends this Lent Season, as well as asked them to be their trusted friend for another. Bea beautifully opened the class in prayer.
I passed back last week's table quizzes, and then checked vocbaulary from lessons 17-21.
We reviewed lessons 19 - 21, which included a fun project with clay, spools of thread, and craft sticks. The goal here was to think about the benefits of the track system on a tank. And then we got some perspective on the depth of the ocean floor and how far scientific submersibles could go, (over 20,000 feet by the Japanese submersible "Shinkei"!!)
Students gathered in table groups for the Unit 3 quiz, which was open book this time.
