Adventurous Eats - these are globally inspired flavors & unique ingredients to allow our customers to discover something new. These meals will typically be inspired by cuisine from other non-American countries. This preference does not follow any nutritional criteria and is focused on flavor profile and cuisine type. Recipes will include unique ingredients like kimchi, tart cherries, jicama and more.
Our Adventurous Eats preference is perfect for our customers who want to try something new and exciting. The meals connected to this preference are globally inspired and typically feature cuisines from different countries all around the world. If you're up for something different and delicious, this is the preference for you.
Quick & Easy - are meals that will save time with quick prep and low cook time. This preference does not follow any nutritional criteria and is focused on low prep and cook times
Our Quick & Easy preference is designed to be just that- quick and easy! These meals are perfect if you're a busy bee and need something quick but don't want to compromise on quality or flavor! With very little prep and cook time, these meals are delicious but don't require too much time or effort.
Calorie Smart - are meals to help customers maintain a healthy weight. These meals will have less than 700 calories per serving. Meals that are included in this preference avoid high fat proteins, sauces, and butter, and encourages fish, poultry, non-starchy vegetables, vinaigrettes, and olive oil.
We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy weight and this preference helps you do that. The Calorie Smart preference includes meals that have less than 700 calories per serving. If you are calorie conscious and need something on the lower calorie side, this preference is perfect for you.
Plant Based - are meatless meals with certified organic produce & plant-based proteins. This preference includes both vegan and vegetarian meals. This includes both vegan and vegetarian recipes .
Our Plant Based preference is perfect for our Vegan and Vegetarian customers. The meals connected to this preference include delicious meatless and plant-based alternatives as well as certified organic produce. With this preference, you'll receive fresh, plant based meals with just as much flavor as our other offerings. If you live or aspire to live a plant based lifestyle, give this preference a try.
Gut & Brain - includes meals that support gut and brain wellness, containing ingredients that promote anti-inflammatory and/or have high fiber content at 10%+.
Taking care of your gut and brain is so important to us here at Green Chef and this preference is an example of that! With anti-inflammatory ingredients and high fiber content, the meals connected to this preference are not just tasty- but they make you feel good.

Protein Packed are meals intended to simply focus on the customer's protein intake. They do not have any specific ingredient criteria.
Keto are meals that fit the keto diet : high fat and low in carbohydrates.
Vegan and Vegetarian Preference are our Plant Based preference is perfect for our Vegan and Vegetarian customers. The meals connected to this preference include delicious meatless and plant-based alternatives as well as certified organic produce. With this preference, you'll receive fresh, plant based meals with just as much flavor as our other offerings. If you live or aspire to live a plant based lifestyle, give could this preference a try.
Mediterranean Preference focuses on lean meats, healthy fats, fresh veggies, dairy and whole grains, these meals provide well balanced options where freshness is key.
Fast & Fit are meals under 700 calories and ready in 25 minutes or less. The recipes that are included in this preference have a mix of healthy and filling proteins.
Gluten Free is actually a meal tag not a preference. Our Certified Gluten Free options are ensured so that every ingredient in these meals contain 10ppm (parts per million) or less of gluten.
When a customer selects these, their defaulted selections will include meals that reflect the updated preference. NOTE: As mentioned above, these are additional customizable options available in the customer's Plan Settings. These are NOT meal tags or meal preferences.
Omnivore : Meals that include both meat and veggies
Pescatarian : Meals that include fish and other seafood offerings in dishes with mainly vegetables
Fish Free : Meals that exclude fish (Salmon, Tilapia, Barramundi, etc.)
Shellfish Free : Meals that exclude shellfish. This is specifically crustaceans (such as shrimp, prawns, crab and lobster) and mollusks/bivalves (such as clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, octopus, squid, abalone, snail)
Pork Free : Meals that exclude pork (pig derived meats such as ground pork, bacon, pork tenderloin, pork chops)
Poultry Free : Meals that exclude poultry (chicken, turkey, etc.)
Beef Free : Meals that exclude Beef (ground beef, steak, beef tenderloin, etc.)
Keto - Pork Free : Keto meals that exclude pork
Keto - Fish Free : Keto meals that exclude fish
Keto - Beef Free : Keto meals that exclude beef
Keto - Shellfish Free : Keto meals that exclude Shellfish
Keto - Meat only : Keto meals that include meat (the customer won't receive any meals without meat)
