Most of our beef comes from Angus breeds that are raised on pasture and finished on grains. They spend most of their lives grazing on pastures before moving to a strict vegetarian diet of grains and roughage. This finishing process allows our farmers to produce USDA Choice and Prime-graded meat that’s always well-marbled, tender, and juicy.

Do you offer grass-fed beef? Where is it sourced from?
We offer 100% grass-fed beef sourced from family farmers in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota, where cattle have continuous access to pasture during the growing season, the time between the last average frost in the spring and the first average frost in the fall. During the winter, the farmers move the cattle to stored forages to protect them from harsh winter conditions.

PORK
➤ Born, raised and harvested in the U.S.
➤ Responsibly raised and contains no antibiotics or added hormones, ever
➤ Pigs are fed a 100% vegetarian diet (aside from milk protein)
➤ Wide variety such as bacon, pork loin roast, sausage variety, and more
At this time, the time frame does significantly vary from item to item within the pork. While we don't have specifics disclosed for each item, it typically occurs within one week depending on the cut.
We source all of our pork exclusively from American farms that forgo using antibiotics, added hormones, growth promotants, preservatives, or artificial ingredients of any kind.
Hogs have very little hair and no sweat glands, which makes them sensitive to heat and cold. That’s why our farmers keep them in climate-controlled barns where they’re safe from extreme temperatures and predators and get access to the right amount of food, veterinarian care, and attention.
Gestation Crate-free means the animal (pig) was never placed in a crate (cage) during gestation period. Some pork producers keep their sows in tight gestation crates throughout their lives and artificially impregnate them. Gestation crates enclose pigs in a space of about seven feet by two feet—an area barely larger than the pig’s body. A mother pig will remain in this minuscule space for the entirety of her pregnancy. Typical gestation period is about 4 months. Some pork producers keep pigs in crates during those 4 months (gestation period), while Good Chop's farmers do not.
Our Pulled Pork offering arrives fully cooked. The product label you receive includes nutritional facts and safe handling instructions. See here for example

The hogs on our farms are fed an entirely vegetarian diet without animal byproducts, aside from milk for the piglets’ nutrition. A vegetarian diet free of animal byproducts provides the perfect balance of nutrients for the animals as they grow. When we talk about a vegetarian diet in hogs, we always include “except for milk.” Why? That’s because when piglets get weaned from their mothers, they do best with milk-based supplements containing vitamins and minerals to help them grow.
All our pork cuts are free of anything unnatural. That means no antibiotics, no preservatives, no added hormones or growth promotants, and a fully vegetarian diet outside of milk protein.
All of our partner farmers are Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA) trained, undergoing a rigorous third-party training program that teaches them to maintain strict food safety and ensure animal wellbeing. To further reduce stress and reduce injury, drivers also undergo training by Transport Quality Assurance before transporting the hogs from one location to another.

All Natural (Regular) Chicken offerings
At this time, the time frame does significantly vary from item to item within the chicken. While we don't have specifics disclosed for each item, it typically occurs within one week depending on the item.
We source our chicken from trusted family farms in Nebraska and Iowa committed to responsible handling from start to finish. Fed a fully vegetarian diet consisting of corn and soybean meal, the poultry at these farms never encounter antibiotics, growth stimulants, animal byproducts, or arsenic in their feed. Maintaining high standards for the raw ingredients that go into the feed ensures that the chickens receive the nutrition they need to be in the best possible health.
All our chickens are free-roam, meaning they’re never caged or confined. Instead, they roam and engage in natural behaviors with ready access to feed and water at all times. Additionally, our farmers use humane handling practices at every stage of the chickens’ lives. When it’s time for harvest, trained personnel catch and load the chicken by hand to eliminate stress and injury, increasing the quality of the meat in the end.
Our chicken cuts are 100% pure air-chilled. Why does that matter? Well, the way chicken is chilled plays a key role in the tenderness, moistness, and overall flavor of the end product. Once butchered, workers cool the chicken rapidly to less than 40°F within a specified time frame. This crucial step ensures the chicken is safe for consumers. Many other poultry producers settle for a cooling process called immersion chilling to save time and money. This process entails tumbling the chicken through a communal water bath that sanitizes it with one or more acidic compounds. Unfortunately, when chicken—or any meat for that matter—is soaked in a solution for an extended time, it absorbs liquid, causing a detrimental effect on the meat’s taste, texture, and overall quality. Meanwhile, air chilling—a process in which circulates the chicken through a series of chill chambers cooled with purified cold air—yields a superior end product. Taste-wise, 100% air-chilled chicken offers a pure, undiluted flavor that cooks more consistently. The meat remains tender and juicy throughout the cooking process while browning to a perfect crispness (especially with skin-on cuts) for an unparalleled dining experience.
No. All our chicken cuts are free of anything unnatural. That means no antibiotics, no preservatives, no added hormones or growth promotants, and a fully vegetarian diet.

Yes! We're glad you asked. Our Ocean Disclosure Project page covers our seafood sourcing map at Good Chop. You may view that through this link : https://oceandisclosureproject.org/companies/good-chop
Overfishing is a serious threat to our oceans, which is why we only partner with responsible fisheries that carry the blue Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) label. The MSC is a third-party council that works to restore wild fish populations and their ecosystems by ensuring fisheries only fish healthy stocks and keep their impact on other species and the broader ecosystem to a minimum.
