Head
Mask is made from high quality latex or silicone material.
The head base color is a smoky medium brown with lighter and darker shades for detail.
Mask consists of two eyes, a snout-like nose, a wide and lizard-like mouth, scaly skin and platelets, rear horns and a horned "mohawk", all matching ESB film references as closely as possible in size, shape and placement.
Eyes are ovular lenses incorporated into the mask with no visible gaps, and dark enough to hide wearers’ eyes.
Eyes are burnt orange around the outer iris with a large, oblong black pupil.
Behind each eye are four small nub-type horns.
Mouth reveals teeth.
Optional Upgrades:
The mask closely resembles the ESB film references in shape and distinguishing features, animated-styles or other non-ESB based masks are not allowed.
Texture of the mask is glossy and gives the appearance of glistening reptilian skin.
Eyes are made of a solid acrylic glossy lens.
Teeth and fangs closely match film references.
A tongue is visible inside the mouth.
Neck Seal
The Neck Seal is a semi-smooth black base that covers the entire neck like a dickey and appears to be a part of the upper flight suit apparatus, with a rigid rim that encircles the entire head just below the chin flaring outward and down slightly.
A maroon colored and weathered corrugated hose sits flush with the edge of the rim and completely wraps around the circumference of the neck seal rim.
A locking-clamp mechanism is mounted on front rim of neck seal (similar to those seen on diving helmets), in the open position with tension cabling visible on both sides of the mechanism.
Horizontal “I” shaped cable bracket mounts, with a downward crescent cable guide in the lower center of the center rod, are mounted on each side of neck seal.
Cables run through the crescent bracket mounts, routing the cabling to the upper back portion of flight vest.
The neck seal rim appears to have a rubber cover around the entire circumference.
Optional Upgrades:
The corrugated hose is maroon.
The neck seal is a functional part of the upper flight suit apparatus.
Four zippers, two in front and two in the rear, originating from the upper flight suit apparatus and zip upwards towards the rim of the neck seal.
A fifth zipper is seen on the back of the neck, originating from the lower back of the flight suit, that zips up to the the base of the neck seal flared base.
The top and bottom nuts holding the “I” shaped cable bracket to the neck seal flare are black.
Upper Flight Suit Apparatus
Can be made to be a part of the flight suit or as a separate vest.
Vest section is made of black rigid fabric, stiff cotton canvas or similar material that appears to attach securely to black rubber quick release-type seal gaskets, that completely wrap around the top of the shoulder and armpit, on each side of the torso.
The vest section is cropped and only covers the collarbone, chest and upper back areas terminating well before the bottom of the flight vest.
Shoulder seals appear to be coated with black rubber and have a metallic center that is only visible from the sides.
The right and left shoulder seals have D-shaped metal brackets on the torso side in the front, attached with three silver screws/rivets.
A one inch wide weathered white nylon or cotton adjustment strap connects the two brackets together and runs under the flight vest.
The vest section zips up the upper back and neck and covers the bottom portion of the neck seal.
An all-black cable with some thickness, wraps around the right shoulder seal, with male and female ends connecting to each other in the front at the armpit.
Optional Upgrades:
Vest section is not a separate vest but is an actual part of the upper section of the flight suit.
Vest section is made of notably stiff cotton canvas twill which connects securely to the inner diameter of the shoulder seal gaskets on each side of the body.
The face of the hose clamp band at the shoulder seal is covered in black shrink tubing or similar black rubber material to conceal it, leaving only the rear tension adjusting screw and the ring of the hose clamp band visible when the upper arm is attached.
There is a second set of modified D-brackets, differing from the front and encompass the rear tension adjusting screw, on the shoulder seals in the rear of the apparatus with a one inch weathered nylon adjustment strap connecting the two brackets together, beneath the flight vest.
All D-brackets are riveted to the shoulder seal.
All white nylon strap's webbing pattern is herringbone.
The black cable is an actual microphone cable.
Flight Suit
Please see Bossk Flight suit page for more specific details.
Flight suit is dull yellow or mustard colored..
Upper arms attach securely to black rubber quick release-type seal gaskets that completely wrap around the top of the arm while appearing to attach to the inside of the upper flight suit apparatus' seal gaskets.
The seams on each shoulder are partially covered with white reinforcing strips of fabric, making a "K" shape.
Each arm has identical but inverted, distinguishable patches over the outside shoulder deltoid area.
Patches are placed so that they do not overlap the shoulder flap seams or the bicep seam.
Patch on the left arm has a blue 'd' shape in the lower right corner.
Patch on the right arm has a blue 'p' shape in the upper left corner.
Arms extend from the shoulder seal down just past the elbow.
There are black rubber quick release-type seal gaskets, approximately 1 inch wide (proportionate to the costumer) at the base of each upper arm and appear to connect the flight suit arm to the forearm and hand's upper quick release-type seal gasket, just below the elbow.
The appearance of the silver ring of the hose clamp, left uncovered, is slightly visible.
A yellow fabric hose connector matching the flight suit material is on the costumer’s abdominal area, just to the right of the Flight Harness center strap, entering the flight suit approximately between the flight vest and the belt.
White tape/wrap connects a brown hose to the yellow fabric connector.
The yellow end has a noticeable center seam running from the body of the suit to the white hose connector.
A white fabric belt-loop is sewn to suit on the right hip, above the belt and towards the costumer’s rear, that guides the hose through to the back.
The fabric hose connector and attached brown environmental hose runs almost totally horizontal to the ground around to the back and terminates under the flight vest, anywhere from the center of the back toward the right hip and is not visible from the front.
A small dark grey/black wire exits from the bottom of the flight vest on the right side and extends around the mid-torso flight harness' center harness strap, entering the flight suit behind it.
There is a visible, thick blue section around the end just before the cable feeds into the flight suit.
On the right lower thigh, a valve resembling a stethoscope and separate tube are seen just above the knee.
The tube exits the flight suit from a rubber grommet at roughly 11 o'clock from the valve and angles downwards towards it, roughly 3", terminating just before reaching the valve.
There is a blue section, just after the tube exits from the flight suit.
On the inside of the left thigh is a strip of material similar to the leg cuffs.
On the left lower thigh, a black P-style valve and a short open black tube extending downward out of the flight suit, are seen just above the knee.
A white center circle is seen on the face of the valve as well as a thin white line line detail that extends upward from the enter circle to the edge of the valve.
Pant Cuffs on each leg are white and combined with the pant legs, bunch heavily below the knee and above the leg flare holders.
Optional Upgrades:
The flight suit is made of a gas-tight fabric comprised of rubberized silk, bonded to a high strength cotton or similar heavy upholstery-like material, replicating the appearance of the screen used Windak full pressure suit.
Seams in the arms, torso and legs matches ESB film references.
Seams show accurate double and triple stitching where applicable.
The upper arm connects to the inner diameter of the shoulder joint gasket and forms a seal with the upper flight suit apparatus' seal gasket, without any visible gaps.
The hose clamp band at the elbow is covered in black shrink tubing or similar black rubber material to conceal it leaving only the tension adjusting screw visible and approximately 1/4" of the connecting side of the band visible.
The flight suit zips up the lower back to the neck.
A small white fabric loop is sewn into the lower thigh of the left leg horizontally, just below the open black tube, right above the knee.
The same K seen on the front of the shoulder is present on the back of the shoulders as well.
The buttocks area of the costume is baggy and extends outwards from the costume.
There is a vertical black zipper section in the crotch that can be seen directly behind the Flight Harness center strap.
Four expanding circular stitchings surround the hose connector's entry point.
The vertical white patch on the left thigh shows accurate lacing.
Forearms and Hands
Forearms and Hands are made of latex, silicone or similar material and are proportionate in width to the upper arm section of the flight suit.
The forearms and hands base color is a smoky medium brown with lighter and darker shades for detail, closely resembling the head, lower legs and feet.
There are black rubber quick release-type seal gaskets, approximately 1 inch wide (proportionate to the costumer) at the top of each forearm and appear to connect the forearm and hands to the upper arm arm's lower quick release-type seal gasket, just below the elbow.
Surrounding each forearm and down to the wrist are large flat scales.
Smaller scales cover the back of the hands.
Each hand has 3 fingers with discernible bone-colored claw tips.
Each hand is long enough to extend down to just above the costumer’s knee with the middle claw extending slightly lower.
Any production seams are not visible.
Optional Upgrades:
Texture of the arms and hands is glossy and gives the appearance of glistening reptilian skin.
The forearm attaches to the inner diameter of the seal gasket and connects to the upper arm seal without any visible gaps.
Weathering around scales is darker than base color.
Flight Vest
Ribbed Flight Vest is white in color and made of sturdy nylon, polyseter or similar fabric.
The vests worn by X-wing pilots were based off the Windak flight vest and are identical.
Front of the vest has 11 correctly spaced ribs on the front, with a gap between the upper 2 and lower 9.
Separating the 2 upper-most from the 9 lower ribs is a flat section with multiple horizontal stitching lines running the width of the vest.
1" strap and silver buckle hardware connects the front of the vest to back, at the costumer's waist rib cage, on each side.
The back of vest has a total of 16 evenly spaced ribs.
The side buckle strapping wraps completely around the lower back with a adjustable locking slide buckle at the middle of the vest, connecting the straps from both side buckles and separating the 2 lower-most ribs from the 14 upper ribs.
All ribbing creates the illusion they are filled.
Anything used to fill the ribs is not seen.
A fabric loop half the width of the shoulder straps, with curved white tubing extending beyond fabric on each side, is attached to back of vest at fourth rib from the top for Tension Cabling to run through.
Shoulder straps, roughly the same width as the harness webbing, connect the front and back of vest.
Optional Upgrades:
The flat section of the vest consists of 22 thin rows.
The adjustment straps on the lower back feed into the top layer of the vest on each side like a belt loop and only the section where the slide can be adjusted is visible in the middle of the vest.
There is 1/4" horizontal stitching running the width of the shoulder straps from the front to the back of the vest.
The shoulder strap's webbing pattern is herringbone.
Compression Control Box
Please see Bossk Control Box page for more specific details.
Control Box is a small rectangular box with four pan head or round head straight slotted screws visible on the bottom, and a “stove pipe” affixed to the top.
A small flat-handled ratchet and tapered socket, or replica, is attached on left side of the Control box, with a hole directly opposite on the right side.
Control box, ratchet and socket are all metallic silver.
The Control box attaches to a distressed black square backing plate with a curved top and is rounded at the corners.
The top of the backing plate follows the curve of a small, gently downward-crescent bending black pipe with white ends (cable guides).
Backing plate has four small silver screws that appear to attach it to a thin and flexible rectangular white protective sheet. The protective sheet sits against vest and is made of thin white plastic, the same width as the backing plate and extends downward to the last rib of the flight vest.
A thin “tensioning shaft” is attached perpendicular to bottom of Control box.
End of the “tensioning shaft” has larger black Clevis screw attachment, with a hole for connecting lower cabling system.
Optional Upgrades:
Control box is approximately 2-inches high x 1.5-inches wide and deep, with four pan head or round head straight slotted screws visible on bottom of the box, and a “stove pipe”, roughly .75-inch in diameter with cap affixed to the top, approximately 1 to 2 inches tall.
Stove pipe detail shows threading at the top where the original cap was removed.
The ratchet used is an original 4.5 inch king dick ratchet or direct replica.
A thin, inlaid groove appears approximately 1/4 inch from the bottom of the chest box all around the base of the chest box.
With exception of the white protective sheet and backing plate, all silver Control box parts highly resemble real metal pieces.
The four corners on the vertical sides of the control box are rounded.
Tension Cabling System
Tension cables appear to be metal.
Cable #1 runs from front to back through various connection points. See attached graphic.
Cable #2 extends from the bottom of the Control Box’s “tensioning shaft” to a black inverted “Y” splitter, so that the splitter is just above the Belt. Cable is covered by white tubing.
The “Y” splitter has a barrel and thumb screw that the upper cabling connects through.
On each leg, a cable extends downward from the end of the “Y” splitter and runs through a 1-inch white strap loop at the front of the hip before looping around the outside of the thigh. The strap wraps around the inside of the leg and connects to the same cable at the backside of the hip.
Cables are bare until the silver cable stops mounted a few inches below the Belt. White tubing covers the cable beyond the cable stops, acting as insulators to keep them from snagging on the flight suit.
Optional Upgrades:
Tension Cabling System matches ESB film and Windak references.
Cables are actual 3/32" tension cables.
Flight Harness
Entire harness is made of grey/silver standard two-inch nylon webbing.
Webbing and set up is identical to the x-Wing Pilot harness.
Center strap extends from under flak vest in front and ends in back, secured to either the flight suit or flak vest with no visible means of attachment.
Lowest point of center strap falls just below the inseam (or crotch area).
Leg loops are held up by the Center strap with a single piece of strapping attached to each loop in an "X" sewing pattern.
The leg loops droop no lower than the knees on outer thigh.
Optional Upgrades:
Harness webbing is silver grey in color.
Belt
The belt is worn over the Center harness strap and is camel/dust color, with a “cargo slide” (or roll pin) style buckle.
Similar to the X-Wing Pilot belt.
The free end of the belt is looped around the slide so that the excess is on the inside of the belt.
The right side of the belt contains 6 vertical loops for mini-flares, with only 4 flares (from the front to back: 2nd and 4th holders are empty).
Mini-flares are as long as the belt is wide, and are metallic silver in appearance.
Optional Upgrades:.
Mini flares are made of metal.
Flares are only seen at the right side hip.
Leg Flares
Each leg has a fabric leg flare holder, with eight total flare pouches spaced evenly apart.
The flare holders are not more than four inches tall and made of a dark olive drab fabric.
Each leg has seven silver Flares which appear metallic.
The flare on the middle right leg and the flare on the rear left of the left leg are missing.
Optional Upgrades:
Flares are made of metal.
Flare holders are dark olive drab.
Lower Legs & Feet
Lower legs and feet are made of latex, silicone or similar material.
The lower legs and feet base color is a smoky medium brown with lighter and darker shades for detail, closely resembling the head, forearms and hands.
Surrounding each leg and down to the ankle, are large flat scales.
Smaller scales cover the tops of the feet.
Each foot will have 3 toes with claw tips that curve downwards, and one pointed spur on each heel.
Any production seams are not visible.
Optional Upgrades:
Texture of the lower legs and feet is glossy and gives the appearance of glistening reptilian skin.
The claws on the feet are made of a hard, non-flexible material.
The arc of the claws curve at least 90 degrees downward, almost beginning to curve under at points.
Weathering around scales is darker than base color.
Optional Accessories
Items below are optional costume accessories. These items are not required for approval, but if present appear as described below. If adding in an accessory after initial approval, the item still needs to be submitted to local GML for approval before use.
Relby-v10 Mortar Gun
Made from a Webley & Scott Schermuly anti-riot gun (or replica) or made to closely resemble the prop.
Two telescopes (or replicas), that match ESB film references, are mounted to the top of the forward barrel and breech sections of the blaster.
A functional or non-functional light brown sling attaches beneath the forward-most grip and the underside of the back of the stock.
Detail pieces installed on the front of the gun and stock match ESB film references.
Optional Upgrades:
Relby V10 base is an actual Webley & Scott Schermuly anti-riot gun or direct replica.
Sling is made of leather.
Telescopes are the correct actual 1943 M38 or M40 azimuth tank telescopes or direct replicas.
