Boots

Everybody wants to get the helmet and the armor right and they are important parts of the outfit and probably the most visible. However, at a Convention or other Troop you will be on your feet most of the day and that’s when you start to notice how important your footwear really is.

Stay away from laced boots unless you have shin armor and plates over your boots fully covering the laces. Highly visible zippers also look out of place. There are vendors out there who offer custom-made boots with the right star-warsy look.

Notes:

Boot recommendations:

A simple, nondescript pair of Chelsea boots made of black or brown leather might be an affordable way to get sturdy boots which don’t look out of place. They are available in various heights and with various soles and heels so you should be able to find a comfortable pair for yourself.

You could also look into getting a pair of motorcycle boots. Especially some racing style boots have a futuristic semi-armored look, but you should make sure that there are no brand labels on them which are impossible to remove or to cover. Reflective panels need to be removed or spray painted over. Also think about getting cushioned insoles to increase the comfort of your boots. Nothing can ruin your Convention experience like feet hurting an hour after opening of the gates, so take care of them.

Chelsea Boots

Skechers Chelsea boots (similar to The Mandalorian's boots) are very popular. Chelsea boots is a great streamlined style. There are many vendors for this style of boot and work excellent for mandos.

Cover your laces!

If you are choosing boots that have laces, be sure to cover them such as Jyn Erso's boots. Her boots are Frye boots where they added a flap over the laces so they could not be seen.

In fact, these are the exact boots Din Djarin wears.
