In Trollic tradition, each Troll follows the teaching of their ancestors. These stories act as guidance for a Troll’s life and a certain level of expectancy is place on how a troll should behave in order as to not offend them. Trolls that have shamed their ancestors are shunned by their fellows and can even be expelled from the tribe.
Above all the ancestors sit the Ancestor Gods. Legend tells that these Ancestors fought the Fae for the Troll’s freedom and were a main factor in that race’s flight from the Green into our World. The greatest of Troll rites are held in their honour and their names are invoked to give a Troll strength in all things.
Efhar Tekde
Efhar Tekde is the primary masculine Ancestor and was the ruler of the Troll tribes that revolted against the Fae. He is the divine patron of rulers and is worshiped by those in search of prestige, honour, and nobility, yet he’s often cursed for being a fickle trickster. He is associated with wisdom, death, knowledge, victory, sorcery and poetry and is known to be the Father of Trollic, the troll’s runic alphabet.
Kahordehienzu Emhor
The primary feminine Ancestor God, Kahordehienzu Emhor was Efhar Tekde's shield maker in Troll Legends. She is the patron of blacksmiths, fire, earth, weaponry and architecture, but also of song, beauty and dance. Legends speak that her ballads could reduce all to tears and a great many Troll myths involve mortals trying to win her favour only to be cast down when she rebukes them.
Efelhovar Emuhen
The joyful Ancestor God, Efelhovar Emuhen is the patron of chiefs, joy, drink, hunters, feasts, celebration, hearth and home, as well as volcanoes and natural disasters. He is depicted as a portly Troll with a great white beard and cooking apron. His favoured party trick was the eat boulders whole and wash it down with magma from under the earth. He is said to love practical jokes.
Zuelahtenarha
The Slayer in Trollic, Zuelahtenarha is the Ancestor associated with challenges and battle. War, death, blood and misery, as well as oaths and promises. All Trollic contracts are cemented with an offering to the Slayer and the promise that his wrath will descend upon any who break it. It is spoken that during the uprising of the Trolls, Zuelahtenarha fought all the Fae Gods at once, never surrendering despite being outnumbered ten to one.
