Director of Early Childhood Programs
Director of Early Education to provide culturally competent leadership and vision for the development and implementation of its high-quality birth to five educational programs. The Director oversees all areas of the Head Start program operations including the establishment and implementation of program goals, development and monitoring of program budgets, relationships with funding sources at federal, state, and local levels, and compliance with contracts and credentials.
Associate Director of Compliance
The Associate Director of Compliance provides programmatic and administrative leadership to the ERSEA, Mental Health and Disabilities, Health and Safety, and Quality Improvement Departments to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic plan. This position is responsible for the development of systems and procedures to ensure that programs meet all requirements per Federal Head Start Performance Standards, local and state contract requirements and agency policies and procedures (PI/PFA/HS/EHS/EHS-CCP). Responsibilities include the execution of trauma-informed and culturally appropriate service delivery, hiring/onboarding program staff, ensuring proper supervision, and professional development. Through strategic implementation, direction, and mentoring, the role effectively articulates and leads the development of high-quality program services, policies, procedures, and integration of mental health, family engagement, and civic engagement across programs. This position serves on the Gads Hill Center Leadership Team and works diligently to ensure that the program and activities offered across all program models are impactful and of the highest quality.

Site Manager
The Site Manager is responsible for the implementation Gads Hill Center’s center-based early childhood programming at the site level. In this role, the Site Manager oversees the implementation of program curricula, ensures adherence to the program model and funder requirements, and provides supervision and guidance to the teachers and Family Support Workers. The Site Manager also maintains the quality of program services and ensures that children, youth and families receive comprehensive education and support services. Education and Disabilities Manager
The Education/Disabilities Manager is responsible for providing observation, guidance, and coaching to all Children’s Programs education staff in collaboration with Site Managers and Program Managers. The Education Manager collaborates with Site Manager, Partner Network Manager, and Home Visiting Programs Manager to ensure high-quality education services in all Children’s Programs. In addition, this position is responsible for managing continuing education and professional development for all Children’s Programs and assisting with implementing the Creative Curriculum and the Parents as Teachers Curriculum.
Home Visiting Program Manager
The Home Visiting Programs’ Manager is responsible for implementation of the agency’s home visiting programs for children ages 0-5 and pregnant women. In this role, the coordinator manages implementation of all program curricula, ensures adherence to program models and funder requirements and provides supervision and guidance to all home visiting staff. The Home Visiting Programs’ Manager collaborates closely with the Site Managers, the Partner Network Manager Family Support Manager to maintain quality of program services and to ensure that families receive comprehensive education and family support services that fit their needs.
Partner Network Support Services Manager
The Partner Network Support Services Manager is responsible for the implementation of the agency’s Early Head Start and Head Start programs in the Partner Network. In this role, the manager ensures that subcontracted partners fulfill the requirements of their contract with the agency and maintain compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and all grantee requirements and expectations. In addition, the manager provides supervision and guidance to a team of Family Support Workers. The Partner Network Support Services Coordinator collaborates closely with Children’s Services Managers to maintain the quality of program services and to ensure that families receive comprehensive education and family support services that fit their needs.
ERSEA Manager
The ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance) Manager oversees the ERSEA content area for the agency’s Head Start, Early Head Start and Early Head Start Childcare Partnership programs. This individual plans and facilitates outreach and enrollment activities to ensure that Gads Hill Center programs are fully enrolled. The ERSEA Manager is responsible for planning and providing training related to enrollment systems, policies and procedures for all Head Start/Early Head Start, Early Head Start Childcare Partenrship, Prevention Initiative/Preschool for All and CCAP programs. In addition, the ERSEA Mangager will represent Gads Hill Center at recruitment and outreach events and participate in recruitment and outreach activities.
Disabilities and Mental Health Manager
The Disabilities and Mental Health Manager works to ensure that all children receiving disability or mental health services are consistently and always provided with high-quality service. The Disabilities and Mental Health Manager will provide comprehensive, holistic, family-centered support to staff, children, and families. The Disabilities and Mental Health Manager will manage the submission and implementation of all services related to disabilities and mental health (ISP, IEP, mental health observations, equipment training, and services). This role will work with other content area managers, coordinators, and specialists to ensure that children receive comprehensive and integrated services. The Disabilities and Mental Health Managers will ensure that the Children's Services Department is meeting Head Start, DCFS, and ISBE compliance standards with regard to the Disabilities and Mental Health component of programming. The Mental Health and Disabilities Manager works in collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure the appropriate and timely identification of children with special needs. The Mental Health and Disabilities Manager works with internal and external partners to ensure the timely and appropriate implementation of service to identified and children and families.
ERSEA Subsidy & Childcare Specialist
Under the direction of Associate Director of Compliance, the ERSEA Subsidy & Childcare Specialist, participates in all aspects of the IDHS Child Care Assistance Program and Subsidy programing as related to parent and provider applications of childcare including submission of applications and the fee collection process. The Child Care Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of monitoring and facilitating the Child Care Tracking System and the Annual ISBE food program, maintaining record keeping systems and meeting compliance standards.
Family Support Specialist Manager
The Family Support Specialist Manager is responsible for agency oversight and compliance with the Family Support, Case Management, and Family and Community Partnerships components for Early Childhood programs. In this role, the Family Support Manager collaborates with early childhood managers to ensure quality and compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards and the requirements and expectations of the Agency’s funders. In addition, this position provides clinical supervision to Center Based Family Support Specialists, Home Visiting Family Support Specialists, and Case Managers. The Family Support Manager also plans and implements a cycle of continuous professional development for agency family support staff based on identified needs.
Health and Safety Manager
The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for the leadership, direction, and oversight in the areas of planning, development, and implementation of operational policies and procedures for health, including child medical, dental, mental health, and nutrition for all children including those with disabilities. Implements the program’s management systems and procedures, i.e., involving families, planning, communication, record keeping and reporting, ongoing monitoring, and self-assessment. Works closely with the agency’s Food Services Workers to ensure nutritious meals are served to the children, and families provide input to meal planning. This position is responsible for ensuring that program services are provided to families with children who have extra health needs. The Health Services Manager develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates services and methods for both staff and families in providing the overall health approach in the program. This position works within an interdisciplinary team setting with other Head Start staff, using case management.
Family Engagement Coordinator
The Parent Engagement Coordinator is responsible for implementing and coordinating the program’s family engagement, recruitment, and Parent Policy Committee for the Children’s Services Department (CSD). This individual will engage program participants in parent advocacy activities, as well as manage and monitor program recruitment, outreach activities, and Parent Policy Committee duties across the agency. The primary role of the Parent Engagement Coordinator will work in coordination with Family Support Specialist to develop strong relationships with families in order to provide service coordination support, enhance parents’ role as the primary influence on their child’s education and development, and promote positive parent-child relationships and interactions.
Site Manager
The Site Manager is responsible for the implementation Gads Hill Center’s center-based early childhood programming at one of the following sites: Brighton Park, Ogden-North Lawndale, and Kove-Chicago Lawn. In this role, the Site Manager oversees the implementation of program curricula, ensuring adherence to the program model and funder requirements, and providing supervision and guidance to the teachers and Family Support Specialists. The Site Manager also maintains the quality of program services and ensures that children, youth and families receive comprehensive education and support services. Education Coordinator 3-5
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Early Childhood, the Education Coordinator will work closely in classrooms to support teachers with children in the age range of 3-5 years old. The Education Specialist will work as part of a team that includes the Infant Toddler Specialist, and paraprofessionals. Education Specialist will take lead in the development of individualized activities for children with (IEP’s), specific to each student’s needs, classroom coaching, take lead in creating school readiness goals along with leading the disabilities/referral process.
Infant Toddler Specialist 0-3
The Infant Toddler Specialist will manage the education and disabilities components for children ages 0 to 3. In this role, the IT Specialist will collaborate with the Site/Education and Disabilities Manager and Home Visiting Program Manager to ensure quality and compliance in education and disabilities services in the 0-3 programs. The Infant Toddler Specialist will provide observations, guidance and coaching to the 0-3 Children’s Services education staff, as well as assist with the implementation of the Creative Curriculum and the Parents as Teachers Curriculum.
CSD Mental Health Clinicians
The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing early childhood mental health support to Early Head Start, Head Start, and Prevention Initiative staff, children, and families. The MHC will provide a broad range of services; including early childhood mental health consultation in classrooms and through home visits, training and coaching staff, screening, assessment and referral services, promotion and marketing of group services, and providing parent training. The MHC will also collect data, maintain records, and support compliance in all facets of Head Start Performance Standards, Chicago Commons, and DFSS regulations.
Family Support Specialist - Center-Based
The Center-Based Family Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive support to families. Family Support Workers are expected to develop a relationship with parents and/or guardians, beginning in the enrollment process, and to support parents in setting and achieving goals by connecting them to resources that help meet families’ needs. In addition, this position is responsible for helping meet milestones established by the grantee in the areas of health, mental health, nutrition, and family and community partnerships. Family Support Workers play a key role in giving parents the tools needed for leadership roles and empowering parents as advocates for their families.
Family Support Specialist - Partner Network
Gads Hill Center’s Head Start Partner Network is responsible for providing comprehensive support to families. Family Support Specialists are expected to develop a relationship with parents and/or guardians during the initial enrollment process, and to support parents in setting and achieving goals, as well as connect them to resources to meet families’ needs. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the achievement of all assigned milestones established by the grantee in education, health, mental health, family and community partnerships, disabilities, and ERSEA. Family Support Specialists play a key role in engaging parents and empowering them to be advocates for their families through education. Finally, Family Support Workers in the Partner Network provide key support by monitoring compliance at all partner sites.
Case Manager - Home Visiting
The Case Manager serves a partial caseload of pregnant mothers and families with children age’s birth to three. This individual is responsible for providing resources for assigned families as well as planning and engaging families in regular socializations and conducting outreach and enrollment activities to maintain full program enrollment. The Case Manager provides resources to parent educators in the Prevention Initiative Home Visiting program. Finally, the Case Manager will complete a family assessment and develop an Individual Family Service Plan in collaboration with each family to develop a plan for helping families meet their needs and goals.
Home Visitor - Early Head Start
The Early Head Start Home Visitor plans and implements educational activities for families with children ages birth to three years old. The home visitor delivers services in the home environment and in a socialization setting, modeling appropriate behaviors and empowering parents as the first teachers of their children. In this role, the home visitor also serves as a bridge to family support services and agency resources.

The Head Start Home Visitor plans and implements educational activities for families with children ages three to five years old. The home visitor delivers services in the home environment and in a socialization setting, modeling appropriate behaviors and empowering parents as the first teachers of their children. In this role, the home visitor also serves as a bridge to family support services and agency resources.
Lead Teacher - Head Start
The Lead Teacher in Gads Hill Center’s Center-Based Early Childhood program is responsible for ensuring that comprehensive early childhood education services are delivered to children in a safe, nurturing environment for children 3-5 years of age. In this position, lead teachers are expected to collaborate effectively with their teaching team to provide a seamless educational experience for children. This position is responsible for planning and implementing structured educational activities based on program curriculum. At all times, lead teachers must ensure adherence with licensing standards and funder requirements.

Teacher Assistant - Early Head Start
The Teacher Assistant at Gads Hill Center-Based Early Childhood program is responsible for assisting the teacher in delivering comprehensive early childhood education services to children in a safe, nurturing environment. In this position, assistant teachers are expected to collaborate effectively with the classroom teaching team to provide a seamless educational experience for children. This position is responsible for planning and implementing structured educational activities based on the Creative Curriculum. At all times, teachers must ensure adherence to DCFS licensing standards and funder requirements.
Assistant Teacher - Head Start
The Teacher Assistant in Gads Hill Center’s center-based early childhood program is responsible for delivering comprehensive early childhood education services to children in a safe, nurturing environment. In this position, the teacher assistant is expected to collaborate effectively with the teaching team and participate fully in planning, organizing, and implementing structured educational activities based on the program curriculum. At all times, teachers must ensure adherence to licensing standards and funder requirements.
Teacher Aide - Head Start
The floating teacher assistant in Gads Hill Center’s center-based early childhood program is responsible for delivering comprehensive early childhood education services to children in a safe, nurturing environment. In this position, the floating teacher assistant supports teaching teams in the agency’s Head Start classrooms to provide a seamless education experience for children. Although not assigned a specific team, the floating teacher assistant ensures consistency for children when team members are not available and supports individualization for the needs of children. This position is responsible for implementing structured educational activities based o the program curriculum. At all times, teachers must ensure adherence with licensing standards and funder requirements.
Data Management Aide
The Data Management Aide will improve and manage the quality of early childhood data record keeping and reporting at the agency level. Will collaborate closely with Children’s Services Managers to maintain the quality of program services and to ensure that data is gathered and entered accurately in COPA and Salesforce in a timely manner.
Paraprofessional
The primary role of the special education paraprofessional is to help children learn based on their individual abilities. The paraprofessional works in various classroom settings to assist education staff in daily classroom activities, helps special needs students, and cares for their physical and social emotional well-being. The successful candidate will be able to affirm the abilities of the students, and promote dignity in all relationships.
Food Service Worker
The Food Service Worker serves a critical role in the functioning of the agency’s child development centers by serving nutritious food to children in a safe and timely manner. This individual receives food from the catering company, assessing for quality, and portioning food according to the requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The Food Service Worker is responsible for the smooth operation of the food service component of the program, including inventory and distribution of utensils, ordering of supplies and resolution of shortages or other issues.
Health Aide
The Health Aide provides assistance to Gads Hill Center’s Head Start, Early Head Start and Early Head Start Child Care Partnership programs in maintaining compliance with mandated health requirements. This individual will collaborate with Family Support Workers to coordinate health services for children and pregnant moms. In addition, the Health Aide supports monitoring of the health, mental health and family and nutrition component under the direction of the Compliance Manager.
Receptionist
The Receptionist serves as the site's professional image of the site to the public and prospective and enrolled families. This individual is responsible for greeting visitors in person and professionally directing callers by telephone. Under the direction of the Site's Manager, the Receptionist performs essential clerical and data entry tasks.
Custodial Staff
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at all Gads Hill Center sites. This individual adheres to a daily schedule of cleaning and sanitizing tasks. In addition, the Custodian may inspect the facility daily and identify, report, and resolve potential safety hazards, items in need of repair or areas in need of thorough cleaning. This individual may also be assigned to perform minor building maintenance, repairs, and installations as needed.
