Services to Parents
• Family Support staff will provide continual support to parents to navigate health systems to meet their children's general health or specific needs.
• At enrollment, if a child does not have a medical or dental home, information is given to parents about local primary care providers and primary dental care providers.
• During the Family Needs Assessment, family support staff will also make referrals to appropriate resources if family health insurance is a concern.
• As families encounter results of confusing diagnostic and treatment procedures, as well as ongoing care plans, the Family Support staff will connect the family with the agency health specialist to discuss with parents.
• Through Parent Orientation and the Parent Handbook, parents understand the screening and testing procedures children will receive in the program.
• Each site will provide mental health workshops, mental health consultations, and referrals to parents, as needed.
