Department of  Family Support Services: CARES SYSTEM 

Children enrolled in GHC programming are assigned a funding source based on qualification and service providers they qualify for. A Child may have more than one funding source. GHC serves children funded by the Department of Family Support Services in the following programs: Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships (EHS-CCP), Prevention Initiative 0-3 (PI), and Preschool for All 3-5 (PFA). Children enrolled in these programs may also be dually enrolled in other funded programs like Head Start and Early Head Start ( Chicago Commons). Children enrolled in PI, PFA, and EHS- CCP must be input into the DFSS CARES Database upon enrollment without exception. GHC Staff is assigned funding sources based on qualifications. Staff may be counted for more than one funding source. All Staff assigned to PI, PFA, and/or EHC-CCP classrooms must be entered into the  DFSS CARES database upon hire.
