Center-Based Programs
GHC’s Early Childhood Center-Based Preschool Programs serve children and families across three sites, North Lawndale, Chicago Lawn, and Brighton Park. Our high-quality programs combine Head Start, Early Head Start, and childcare subsidies through Illinois Action for Children to offer full-day, year-long programming to at-risk children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Center-Based Programs provide children with a curriculum that stimulates growth and development in multiple learning domains, including cognitive, language, physical, and social/emotional learning. Classroom instruction is facilitated by qualified and credentialed teachers who specialize in Early Childhood Education alongside support staff and a cadre of paraprofessionals. The state-of-the-art classroom environments are designed to promote a safe, child-friendly space for children to explore learning and socialization. We understand the importance of prevention and intervention; therefore, families are offered comprehensive health support, including developmental screenings for their children and referral support.
