Educational Coaching
A coaching model supports the education staff to use effective teaching practices in context with teachers. The GHC education team has selected the Practice Based Coaching Model. Guided by the Pyramid Model Practices. The foundation for the practices in the Pyramid Model is the systems and policies necessary to ensure teachers are able to adopt and sustain these evidence-based practices.
Coaching Protocols
A coaching model supports the education staff to use effective teaching practices in context with teachers. The GHC education team has selected the Practice Based Coaching Model. Guided by the Pyramid Model Practices. The foundation for the practices in the Pyramid Model is the systems and policies necessary to ensure teachers are able to adopt and sustain these evidence-based practices.
· The education team will use the Practice-Based coaching method to guide Teachers’ use of evidence-based practices and promote positive child outcomes.
· All teacher’s coordinators/specialists will sign off on the GHC coaching agreement before entering a coaching cycle.
· Each coaching cycle must be documented on the GHC coaching plan form for the entirety of the six-week cycle.
· Coaching observation logs should be used as support for the coaching plan.
· All teachers will be offered a minimum of two (6) week cycles of individualized coaching per program year.
· Teachers may be provided additional support such as specific classroom Action Plans as it relates to general classroom observations.
· Individualized coaching observations should occur weekly on opposite days of general classroom observations.
· Individualized coaching observations should be specific to the teacher being coached.
· Collaborative Coaching Sessions- must take place within the same week of the induvial. coaching observations and must be a minimum of 30-45 minutes.
· Individualized coaching observations must take place for the duration of one consecutive hour or two 30-minute sessions for comparison.
Practice-based coaching involves the following components:

Focused Observation
Reflection and Feedback
Each member of the education team is required to complete the Training Models that relate to the age group that services will be provided, within the first 90 days of hire.

Classroom Coaching:
Coaching schedules are based on identified needs from classroom observations.
Coaching sessions are required for all teaching staff.
