In Year 9 Visual Arts, students will use a range of drawing and printmaking techniques, combining both traditional and innovative approaches. This subject combines creativity with technique, providing students with the opportunity to explore various artistic styles and develop their personal visual language. Through hands on projects, students will study artists and their works to understand the elements and principles of art and the communication of ideas. They will use technical terms to critically analyse and appreciate art, developing a broader understanding of artistic expression. A Visual Arts Diary will document their creative process and support critical thinking and reflection. At the end of the course, students will present a body of work, accompanied by an artist’s statement, presenting their artistic development and creative practice. This course is ideal for students eager to explore the world through their art while developing their technical, conceptual, and reflective skills.
