This unit explores the growth and development across life stages (prenatal, infancy, early and late childhood, youth and adulthood). Students examine puberty, fertilisation, and key developmental changes during pregnancy. They also consider the characteristics of respectful relationships and examine parenthood as a transition in life, with a focus on the influence of parents or carers, and families. Within this unit, students also have the oportunity to participate in an excursion to a local kindergarten to help build a strong understanding of physical, intellectual, social, and emotional changes that occur throughout the human lifespan. Designed as a foundation for VCE Health and Human Development.
