Werkgroep Dekoloniseer Halle vraagt een publiek infobord aan het domein Victor Brien (ULB) in Lembeek
Het Lembeekbos, een waardevol natuurgebied dat vroeger deel uitmaakte van het Zoniënwoud samen met het Hallerbos, herbergt het kasteel van Victor Brien. Victor Brien heeft zijn fortuin vergaard als bestuurder van bedrijven in Congo in de Belgische koloniale periode. Het domein, dat eigendom is van de Université libre de Bruxelles, is een opmerkelijke erfenis van het kolonialisme in Halle. Om voorbijgangers en wandelaars te informeren over de geschiedenis en de natuur van het domein, pleit Dekoloniseer Halle voor een informatiebord aan de ingang. Het bord kan tot stand komen in samenwerking met historici, natuurorganisaties en de ULB. De QR-code op het huidige bord verwijst naar het dossier en de evolutie van de vraag naar een informatiebord. De plaatsing van het informatiebord zal bijdragen aan de beleving van het gebied en de herinneringseducatie van voorbijgangers.

Le groupe de travail ‘Dekoloniseer Halle’ (Décolonisation Hal) demande un panneau d'information publique au ULB-domaine Victor Brien à Lembeek
Lembeekbos, une réserve naturelle précieuse qui faisait autrefois partie du Fôret de Soignes avec Bois de Halle, abrite le château de Victor Brien. Victor Brien a fait fortune comme administrateur de sociétés au Congo pendant la période coloniale belge. Le domaine, propriété de l'Université libre de Bruxelles, est un héritage remarquable du colonialisme à Halle. Pour informer les passants et les randonneurs sur l'histoire et la nature du domaine, Dekoloniseer Halle préconise un panneau d'information à l'entrée du Lembeekbos. Le conseil peut être créé en collaboration avec des historiens, des associations de nature et l'ULB. Le code QR présent sur le panneau actuel fait référence au dossier et à l'évolution de la demande d'un panneau d'information. L'implantation du panneau d'information contribuera à la perception du territoire et à l'éducation à la mémoire des passants.

The local group ‘Decolonize Halle’ requests a public information board at the entrance to the ULB-domain Victor Brien in Lembeek
Lembeekbos, a valuable nature reserve in Flanders in the outskirts of Brussels, houses the castle of Victor Brien. Victor Brien made his fortune as a director of companies in Congo during the Belgian colonial period. The domain, owned by the Université libre de Bruxelles, is a remarkable legacy of colonialism in Halle. To inform passers-by and hikers about the history and nature of the domain, Decolonize Halle advocates an information board at the entrance of the Lembeekbos. The board can be created in collaboration with historians, nature organizations and the ULB. The QR code on the current board refers to the file and the evolution of the demand for an information board. The placement of the information board will contribute to the perception of the area and the remembrance education of passers-by.
