Child Registration Certificate (CRC) also known as Birth Certificate is a legal/registered document used to register minors under the age of 18 years. It is the fundamental right assured in constitution of Pakistan to the child to get birth certificate or registration certificate from the place of origin e.g place of birth. NADRA is the only authority in Pakistan established under federal law to further this process.
NADRA has been able to automate and in turn facilitate the process of acquiring Child Registration Certificates. The CRC is also known as B-form. CRC can be taken by providing documented proof of child birth from union council. Parent is required to be a holder of National Identity Card (NIC)/National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP). You are required to go to any NADRA Registration Center (NRC) to apply for CRC.
Any person who is born in Pakistan and have old hospital birth certificate. Or anyone who is born in another country but his parents origin country is Pakistan. Or anyone who can prove his birth in Pakistan with any authentic legal document can apply for birth certificate in Pakistan.
You can apply for NADRA birth certificate or Child Registration Certificate (CRC) by personally going to the nearest NADRA Registration Center (NRC). If you cannot go in person due to any reason than you have to give Power of Attorney to you relative or any known person. He will act on your behalf to get to CRC. But
Following are the steps which you will be following at the NADRA registration center:
NADRA provides three kind of services to their customers one is normal deliver second is Urgent and third is Executive. The fee also changes with each category, Usual fee of B.form in normal and urgent category is Rs. 50. But in executive this fee is Rs. 500.
Currently, NADRA does not have online services for the registration of birth certificate. The person who need this certificate has to personally come in NADRA office or give Power of Attorney to someone else.
Whether the CRC is new or its modified the applicant’s needs below documents for the issuance ofNADRA birth certificate in Pakistan;
Applicant needs to fill an application form provided by the NADRA office with exact particulars as mentioned on supporting documents. These supporting documents are hospital birth certificate, education record etc. In major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi NADRA birth certificates can be obtained from local union councils and in many small cities it can be obtained from TMAs etc. In cantonment areas NADRA birth certificates can be obtained from Cantonment Board Offices and in Islamabad CDA is authorized to issue NADRA birth certificates.
After submission NADRA birth certificate in Pakistan can be issued in approx. 5-10 working days depending upon the work load and other factors in of relevant issuing department in Pakistan.
