Procedures to Obtain a Driver's License

Documents Required (photocopies):

• Passport
• Visa
• CNIC
• Local Driving License
• Chalaan [Paid]

Note: Passport-sized photos are not required

STEP-by-STEP

• Visit your nearest Licensing issuing authority (during working hours) with all the required documents and recommended fees.
• Collect Chalaan forms and pay these Chalaans of Rs.700 in State Bank and Rs.350 (Rs.250 + Rs.100) at National Bank branch (located outside). Licensing Authority Branch will provide you details of Banks.
• Return to Licensing authority branch. They will attach all documents and payment slips/receipts together and will send you to Medical Room.
• Take a token for International Driving License before going to doctor's room.
• Doctor will stamp and sign your medical token.
• Go back to IDL room and submit all of your documents along with your medical token.
• In few minutes, you will be issued a Laminated card. i.e. IDP.
