I received pre-arrival services email. (March 7th, 2018)
Salam,
I hope you guys must be doing great. I had an interview on 27th Feb. LVO informed me about the interview on 25th Jan through email. In second email, they asked for the medicals. They told me to bring following docs to the interview:
1- Current phone number of sponsor.
2- Marriage photos.
3- Post wedding/honeymoon photos.
4- Updated police certificates from all districts/areas.
5- Proof of contact and evidence of on-going relationship.
6- Proof of sponsor’s recent visits.
7- Updated version of:
- IMM8
- Schedule-A
- IMM5406
- Supplementary Information forms
I had to get Police certificates from four areas.
1- Lahore (Current and permanent address).
2- Sargodha.
3- Murree.
4- Swabi.
Getting police certificate from Lahore was easy. I just had to submit 2 photocopies of passport and CNIC along with two photos and stamped paper. All the documents were attested. They charged PKR 100. If you want to get police certificate, for an address which is not your current or permanent address, you have to negotiate a lot. In order to get Police certificate from Sargodha, I had to submit all of the documents I mentioned above. They charged PKR 1000. KPK guys are cool. They told me to get character certificate from my university and submit it to the Topi police station. I wasn't able to get the certificate from Murree. Their attitude was a bit rude.. and lame too.
On the interview day, I reached diplomatic enclave two hours earlier. They asked me to submit my documents at the reception of Canadian High Commission and wait for my turn. Interview was started at exact time. Lady who interviewed me was very polite and friendly. She asked about:
1- Marriage (date, place, guest etc)
1- My wife (Personality, Habits, Difference of opinion, etc)
2- Her family
3- Her friends
4- Her room
5- Her workplace
6- Age difference
7- My job
and some other things.
Most of the questions were straightforward. One can easily answer those questions if his/her marriage is genuine. At the end, she said that she was satisfied with our case and it wouldn't take much time(depending upon my background check). They asked if I had two passport size photos which I didn't have at that time. So, they told me to send two photos along with the passport when I get PPR.
