Landing Experience - 3

[18 January 2019]

I landed on 15th Jan. The whole process was quite smooth and took barely 30 mins. Since they don't provide customs/declaration cards in the plane anymore, we were all directed to kiosks at the airport. Since I was traveling with my husband, we entered number of passengers as 2, and then followed the instructions and truthfully answered questions.

Here you will receive a token that needs to be taken to border security. For newcomers (like me) you will then be redirected to an immigration officer (all of these are close by, directions are clear, so there's nothing to worry about). We were lucky that they were mostly free, so we got done quick, but I'm told that mostly when PIA flights arrive, the rush increases.

The officer asked for both copies OF COPR, tallied them, asked my husband for his driver's license as proof of address. He just asked me to sign it and returned back one copy. We were asked to move to an adjacent counter to get a few pamphlets and books, and then the next to get my SIN number. Here you need to walk up to any of the 2 counters and ask for a token number. You will be given a small form, fill out the details correctly and wait for number to be called out. They'll issue a paper with the SIN on it, and you'll be fine.

Best of luck with everything. Oh, and book a good flight. Mine had 3 legs and by the third, I just wanted to go back home đŸ™ˆ
