Greetings to you in the most encouraging and powerful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In today's message Jesus says - 'Do Not Fear...I am here'.

Fear is inborn. Fear started with the fall of man in the garden of Eden. The first sentence spoken by Adam has the word fear.

Sin brought fear into the innocent human heart. We fear: when, we are alone; when, we are without money ; when, all things go against us; when, we are ill; when, its dark; when, strange pandemics knocks our doors; when, there is news of war and displacements, when, accidents happen and robbers loot, when, there is bad news and bad news; and when, unwelcome death calls.
Sin brought fear into the innocent human heart. However, the Psalter has a great confidence of the Lord, because he is our LIGHT. Light obliterates darkness. People say in Eritrea that the hyenas are dangerous animals and one should not walk alone in the night. However, if we have a torch or a lighter, the hyenas would move away from us.

Jesus is the light of the world. Even though, we are surrounded by the enemies, who want to devour us; Fear Not - Jesus is Here and Near. All domains of darkness that brings fear is driven away. No dark power, No evil dominions, No unformed Fear shall have power over Jesus citizens for they are covered under the blood of Jesus Christ.

The second part of the verse, speaks of the Lord’s role in us that “ He is the strength of our Life.” All fear focuses primarily on self-protection. Hence the reminder, He is the strength of our life.

Nineteen years ago, it was America's darkest hour. Two American Airlines Boeing 767, sliced into the World Trade Center. The New York's great twin towers came crumbling down. Thousands lost their lives. The dim and dusty air was howling with fear. Fear lingered at every turn and at every corner. It was utter devastation: anguish, cries, blood and dust. And FEAR reigned.

A godly man narrated his inability to board the same American Airlines Boeing 767, due to his car breakdown. On hearing his son's miraculous escape, the father , a retired firefighter, accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. All fear left his heart. He wanted to help the survivors and he reached the ground zero. The suicide terrorists had also filled the aircraft with anthrax . The father was killed as he inhaled the poisonous substance. But, he had accepted Jesus at the last moment. He died a hero. Fearless.

Lord is my Helper
In Hebrews 13:6, the author has asked a wonderful question “When the Lord is my helper, what can man do to me?” There would be dangers and troubles in life, but in Jesus we get courage, strength and protection. There may be storm everywhere: in our families, our working places, in the society and even in the church. But, we strengthen ourselves in Jesus, who has the full power over the universe. He calms the storms and bring peace and courage into our hearts.

Loving Heavenly Father, We thank you because you are the rock of our salvation. There is no need of fear through any storm or danger. We thank you for your loving kindness and the tender mercies that gives us hope and courage. Dear Lord, help us the stand firm in our faith, so that we will become the overcomers. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
