Dear Brethren,
Greetings to you in Highly Exalted name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Today's message is focused of the role of Ambassador. We are empowered to act as envoys for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Who is an Ambassador? An ambassador is a diplomatic envoy sent by a country to another country. He represents his nation and is responsible to maintain good and healthy relationship.
What are the roles of an ambassador? An ambassador has many roles to play in his diplomatic mission. He is a bridge between the two nations. As the legal representative of his country, he oversees relationship moves well between both the countries especially in times of strain or crises. He is the first person to sort it out with his diplomatic dialogues.
Moreover, he has a bigger role to see the welfare and security of citizens of his own nation. If anyone is in trouble, he will be the first person to act for the welfare and safety of such person.
What is the selection procedure of an ambassador? Generally, he is a graduate from his country's premium college. He is supposed to pass the civil service exam. He undergoes a good and tough training in leadership, internship, and relationship. He is a master in international laws and rules.
Lord's Ambassadors
In Joshua 1, we read how the Lord Almighty was instructing Joshua about the land he and the people would possess. He instructed him not to depart from the law but to observe the precepts carefully(Joshua1:8). Being called as the Lord’s ambassadors, we ought to cling firm to the word of God. As Lord's ambassadors we ought to act only at the interest of his nation. Our Lord’s message for us is to keep and practice the law of the Lord that gains glory for His Kingdom.
Our Trainer
Who is our trainer? Yes, our Trainer is our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 11: 29
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls
What do we learn from the Lord? There are so many things from the Lord. The love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and self control as the Fruits of the Spirit. We learn to put a bold face against any injustice, a selfless service and a sacrificial attitude, the true friendship and a nature to forgive even the enemies.
Jesus also said that
John 18:37
My Kingdom is not of the world.
Yes, Jesus represented the Kingdom of Heaven that is eternal, strongest and imperishable.( Daniel 2: 44).
Apart from Paul, the Jesus' choice of candidates for ambassadors were very ordinary fishermen. These fishermen who did not even know how to read or write but when they received the training from the Prince of the Eternity. They shook nations by the power of the Holy Spirit and that is the reason that we people have belonged to this Greatest Kingdom of Jesus.
It so happened, once that a person was sentenced to death by a fanatic government for a simple reason. The ambassador tried his level best to save him from being shot to death. But with no effect despite all his diplomatic pleas. The final day of the execution approached, the person was tied and brought before the gunmen. The ambassador was present with a sorrowful face. However, just before they could execute the shooting order, the ambassador went ahead and fully covered the man with the National Flag. This act stopped the terrible execution because no one dared to shoot at the National Flag. Thus this man was saved.
Dear brethren, being the ambassadors of our Lord, it is our duty to save the perishing souls around us. As the enemy is always there to bring us down. But there is a banner, the banner of love, redemption and grace is there in Jesus. We are all saved through His blood shed on the cross and this good news must reach the masses.
There will be many challenges for the ambassador but remember that our Mighty King will teach us the right actions for us to follow.
Luke 12:11 -12
Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. 12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.
Prayer
Loving Lord Jesus, You have become the great ambassador for us from the Heavenly Kingdom and made us your heirs to represent your will and wishes to the world. Give us your grace, wisdom and power to show the world that we are the ambassadors of Christ. In your Precious name we pray. Amen.
