Many years ago, there was a young boy who used to sell tooth powder, at New York harbor. His mother was a faithful christian believer. She encouraged her boy; to offer tithes from his earnings; and give it to the church. He was faithful to God and followed his mother’s advice.

God blessed him for his diligent attitude. His small business grew to an established company. He started giving 25% of his income for God's work. Now, as years of prosperity rolled by, he started giving 50%. And later, he decided to tithe 75% of his income. It is said, that towards the end of his life, he was giving 99% of his income for the Lord's work. He lived with 1% of his income, which was immeasurable.

The 'tithing' of this great man was spent on charities, medical and missionary work. Bibles were printed and sold at subsidized price. This great man was called William Colgate. Today Colgate is a trusted brand. Its products are sold all over the world. God blessed the man who entrusted everything to the Lord.

Cheerful Hearts: Cheerful Giver
The Lord sees our cheerful hearts more than the money that we offer. Lets be faithful in our givings to the Lord’s work. There is certainly a blessing there. God challenges us to test him in (Malachi 3:10); though, there here is a strong instruction that we should not test God (Deuteronomy 6: 16). But we find an exemption in the command of tithing. Test me' for a blessing, says God.

Since times immemorial, thousands of God's people have testified that tithing is as natural as breathing to a cheerful heart of a christian. Blessing is nothing but a natural phenomenon of obedience. The fact is that cheerful hearts are being blessed through their cheerful giving.

Dear Loving Father, we know that you are pleased with the cheerful giver. Give us the cheerful heart to give for your work. Lord all what we have was received from your hand and. Lord bless our work and enterprises, so that we may give cheerfully for your work. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
