Greetings to you from Church of Christ the King, Libya. We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In this time of continuing lock-down, we are not able to gather and worship. Lets remember that our Lord is binding us together by His spirit. We are being strengthened by His strength and comforted by His grace. Today's Bible reading focuses on God's guardianship over the weak and His promise of strength which is made perfect in our weakness. But the world disregards the weak. The adage is 'strength is might'.

When he was weak and sick, King David experienced the bruises of gossip. Gossip was spreading on the reason for his sickness. King David cried to the Lord for deliverance. Many of us have experienced the pain due to effects of gossip. It happens especially when we are weak and in problems.

But our Lords guardianship over us is incomparable. It is more than the mother's love, who runs to lift and comfort her child. The mother desperately tries to cover the child's shame from the fall.

Our Lord's love is more than the love of any mother. He has always run to our rescue. We are like the bruised bent reed. God knows that we cannot stand on our own strength. Therefore the Lord says that he will be our strength in our weakness.

From ancient days, people depended on flax-lit oil lamps. The Lamp requires oil and a strong wick to shine light. Our Lord says that he will not allow the light to be dimmed but rather pour oil- His Spirit. (Joel 2:28). And this rejection made her to remain a silent observer throughout her life of eighty years. The choirmaster could have shaped her talents but he chose to put her out. But our Lord perfects our weakness to strength by his power to make us as the shining stars and burning lamps.

He does not covet to receive but gives. Jesus' disciples were weak people. They fled scene when they were outnumbered. Peter called the rock, the defender, denied Jesus three times. Jesus never blamed or found fault with Peter. What a lovely God, we serve.

During the early post resurrection period, Jesus' disciples were very weak and fearful. Jesus encouraged them to wait (Acts 1:8) to equip them with the power of the Holy Spirit. Later, after the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the disciples went preaching the gospel and brought whole nations to experience Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear brethren, Jesus loves you. Are you weak? Are you are heavily burdened? Do you think that you are at life's end? Look unto Lord Jesus. He cares for you more than what you think. Lets commit ourselves, one more time, at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lets acknowledge and understand our own weaknesses to find God's strength perfected in us.

Loving Lord, Heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace, your power and your strength. Lord, we thank you for strengthening us by the Holy Spirit. We pray for our congregations. We pray that the worship doors of our churches be opened. Let fervent communion begin.

We pray for healing among the sick. We pray for deliverance from economic troubles. We pray for the political stability in Libya. Lord, help us to experience your strength being made perfect in our weakness. In the sweetest name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
