Greetings to you from Church of Christ the King, Libya.

Charles Spurgeon calls the prophet Isaiah as the 'Prince of Prophets'. The book of Isaiah is also called as the book of Promise and hope. This is the prophetic book that speaks much about the virgin birth, the life, death and the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There is warning, comfort, relief and salvation found in abundance in the book of Isaiah.

This is the prophetic book that speaks much about the virgin birth, the life, death and the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There is warning, comfort, relief and salvation found in abundance in the book of Isaiah.
This particular verse mentioned above speaks about the 'Seeker'. We seek for several things in life, like, a good job, position, money for survival. People seek for comfort, a good life partner as wife or husband, a good unpolluted atmosphere, an efficient physician, a nice counselor, a prominent lawyer or attorney, good teachers and pastor, a nice and welfare oriented government and politicians. Some also desire to have a famous car that can run without trouble on the way, a good future with pension that can help to sustain during old age with good hospices or old aged homes and the caring children in our fragility and etc.
This particular verse mentioned above speaks about the 'Seeker'. We seek for several things in life, like, a good job, position, money for survival. People seek for comfort, a good life partner as wife or husband, a good unpolluted atmosphere, an efficient physician, a nice counselor, a prominent lawyer or attorney, good teachers and pastor, a nice and welfare oriented government and politicians. Some also desire to have a famous car that can run without trouble on the way, a good future with pension that can help to sustain during old age with good hospices or old aged homes and the caring children in our fragility and etc.
When we read the whole chapter of Matthew 13, we understand it is the chapter of Parables narrated by our Lord Jesus Christ. It starts with the Parable of the sower, who would naturally seeking for a good harvest in the right time. Back in India, I have seen how the farmers would take care of their own fields day and night because they were looking for a good yield that should not be troubled by the invasions of boars, insects and the natural disaster like drought or flooding. The Lord also explains about the man who was seeking for a hidden treasure that excelled all that the owns and at the end got it. Again, we find another man who was seeking for a great and precious pearl and got it after disposing everything he had for himself. Later Lord spoke about a person who collected the best from the net and threw away the bad. (Matthew 13: 44 – 49)

We understand that people search and seek for the materials that is of great value and is beneficial for their lives. But we hardly seek for something that is more precious and of eternal value. What about our souls dear brethren? Do we really care about our soul? Do we seek God who is the author of our life and soul? Or, do we simply look for the material that is not going to come along with us when we bid bye to the world?

I know, the world’s wealth and business is so precious to many people who never can have the habit of visiting the church other than the special occasions. But some of them have died of Corona. Today many want to go to church and seek the Lord’s presence but unable to come because of various restrictions. Even at this juncture, the question is, do we still looking for the temporal materials that cannot help when we are in utmost need?
I know, the world’s wealth and business is so precious to many people who never can have the habit of visiting the church other than the special occasions. But some of them have died of Corona. Today many want to go to church and seek the Lord’s presence but unable to come because of various restrictions. Even at this juncture, the question is, do we still looking for the temporal materials that cannot help when we are in utmost need?
The Lord God Almighty was seeking for Adam in the Garden, when Adam wanted to hide from his presence, The Good shepherd is always seeking for the lost sheep, even by staking His own life. Are we ready to respond to His call, dear Brethren?

I remember a story narrated by father. There was a servant working in an estate and the Master was once offering him his large landscape. The condition was the more area he could cover within in a day by walking or running that would be his. So, he took some paint to mark the area of his coverage, and he was keep on running and returned to the master in the evening. He was so exhausted and even before he could utter a word, he fell at his feet dead out of dehydration and over exhaustion. The master, was very sad too. And all that the servant gained was a piece of land that could fit his body at the end.

Now the Lord is near, and before His grace moves away , let us give up all sort of wicked ways and turn to Christ our Lord who is so graceful to accept us.

Loving Father, we understand that you have been searching for us patiently for a long time. Lord help us to listen to your call before the gracious time of mercy is over. We are now responding to your call like the lost sheep, Do come and save us. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
