The gavel came down for the final time. The verdict: 'NOT GUILTY'. The trail of Indira Gandhi's assassination case was over.

It took the land's Supreme court, five years to make the final judgement. Two Sikh bodyguards were pronounced guilty. But the third accused Balbir Singh, a Sikh officer, who was working in the Delhi Ministry, was freed. Waves of torturous joy passed over him and his family, as they accepted the verdict in stunned silence. Freedom was all he wanted. Before, he could meet his five year old daughter, Balbir pronounced his own verdict, "Justice is not Dead".

Today's meditation speaks of occasions when people of God experience freedom from captivity. In our lives, there maybe captivities like sin, fear, anxiety, chaos, betrayal , loss, sickness, pain, panic. But when the Son sets us free we will be free indeed. The Name of Jesus has the meaning of a Liberator.

The horrors of World War II is too heavy that no pen or memory can absorb or describe it. In a video post, a holocaust survivor's grandson narrates the horrors that took place in Auschwitz, a Nazi occupied Poland. It served as the largest camp for the destruction of Jews. There millions of Jews were forced through starvation, cold, and hard labor. Millions were gassed to death among them were men, woman and children.

They picked Shindy and left Goldina, who had no hope of survival. Shindy held on to her sister Goldina's hand tightly. The medical staff agreed to take both of them. Goldina survived and regained health in four months. It was a medical wonder. And a challenge to the human spirit of resilience and strength against all odds.

Reflection
Dear Brethren, there is strength and resilience in each one of us. When hopes fade away; when every door is slammed closed; when ultimate doom is imminent and fearful horrors lurks near the door, do not fear for Lord's miracle is near. Jesus heals the broken hearted and sets the captives free; because, he is our liberator. And when Jesus sets us free; there is joy and health, singing and dancing in the air. All things sobre, life threatening and deadly will change to vibrant life and freedom.
Dear Brethren, there is strength and resilience in each one of us. When hopes fade away; when every door is slammed closed; when ultimate doom is imminent and fearful horrors lurks near the door, do not fear for Lord's miracle is near. Loving Lord heavenly Father, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who has rescued us from the domain of death and destruction and has given us life and health. May your grace protect and strengthen us. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
