Moses was a powerful Man of God who was a mighty prophet and a deliverer of the people of Israel from the clutches of Egyptian bondage. He did everything according to the Lord’s instruction and he was revered by both the Israelites as well as the Egyptians. However, when the people were in the desert during their exodus, people came to him for various reasons mainly to sort out the problems they have with their neighbors and Moses being the leader had to become their Judge to solve all their problems. There were more than six lakh men folk on their journey and their families and children and the things went so enormous for Moses to handle. There comes the sudden arrival of Jethro who was the father in Law of Moses was suggesting him to appoint rulers over the people to solve all sort of petty issues. So Moses listened to his father-in-law and did all that he said.

The delegation of power has been well defined in a big congregation right from the time of Moses. Even the Lord Almighty was pleased with this because in certain cases the Lord told Moses to appoint the elders for the congregation of Israel. (Numbers 11 : 16, 17). In the New Testament Era, Jesus himself had delegated power and authority to his disciples to do the same work he was doing. “

In (Exodus 18: 21), Men who fear God, and trust worthy, and hate dishonest gain . In (I Timothy 3), lot more qualities are expected in a stewardship career and above all the likeness of Jesus should be found in them. In (Mathew 25), we find a good steward who did the best job for the Master with a great increase of talents. Therefore the Master called him Well done, Good and Faithful Servant...(Mathew 25: 21).

There was a particular Lutheran Church in Romania, during Soviet Era when Christians were persecuted to the maximum with torture and displacement. Limited permission was offered to some registered churches and at one point when the service was going on two gunmen entered into a church and asking the pastor to submit. He told them to leave off those little people found in the church and rather take him into their custody. They told all the people to leave and the pastor stretched out his hands for the chains but for his surprise they knelt down and said “ We are also the true Christians just pray for us” . They left with the prayers and blessings and there came a great joy when the people returned to see the pastor alive with gladness.

Dear brethren, There are good and bad stewards who are there in the Lord’s house but the Lord rewards the one with a faithful heart to serve for him in different capacities with an honest mind and soul.
