For this assignment, I wanted to create something I could use right away in my classroom next week as we kick off the school year. My students will be reviewing and practicing the four main sentence types: simple, compound, complex, and compound complex. Sentence Wizard starts with a short video that explains each type in a clear and engaging way. After the video, students move into a three-question interactive branching activity where they identify sentence types and get immediate feedback.
Each branch is designed to foster collaborative learning. When students choose an answer, they see an explanation of why it is correct or incorrect. This opens the door for them to turn to a partner or small group to discuss the reasoning behind their choices. Even incorrect answers become a learning moment, encouraging students to talk through their thought process and help each other strengthen their understanding.
