For this module, I wanted to try something different and focus on how AI tools can support summative assessment in writing instruction. I analyzed data from my 6th grade ELA classroom using Magic School’s AI-powered “Student Rooms,” which provided students with personalized writing support during our Figurative Language unit. By combining that AI interaction data with our district’s post-test results, I was able to demonstrate how technology can meaningfully boost student outcomes, especially for on-level learners. This project not only aligned with ISTE Standard 7: Analyst, but also sparked important reflection on equity, policy, and the future role of AI in the classroom.
