Reflection: Learning, Growth, and Finding My Balance
As I start this seven week course, I really want to find new and engaging ways to design digital learning that keeps students active and interested. My goal is to make sure learning feels interactive and meaningful instead of something they just sit through. I want to walk away from this course with ideas and strategies I can use to bring energy into my classroom and create lessons that get students thinking and exploring.
When I look at how I learn, I’ve noticed that I do best when I can read at my own pace and take things in small chunks. I used to be able to sit and finish a whole reading or assignment in one go, but now I find I need to take breaks to really absorb what I’m learning. I think part of that comes from how busy and fast our world feels right now. It actually helps me understand my students better because I see how they also struggle with focus and overload sometimes.
When I face challenges, my first instinct is to do more research and try again until I figure it out. I don’t like asking for help unless I absolutely have to, even though I tell my own students that it’s okay to ask questions. I’m learning that sometimes I need to take my own advice. During this course, I plan to ask more questions, even when it feels uncomfortable, and remind myself that learning is a process, not a race.
One thing I’ve learned about myself is that I’m pretty self aware and adaptable. I know when something isn’t working and I’m willing to make changes. I think that mindset will help me stay open and flexible as I move through this course. My hope is to keep growing, stay curious, and walk away from these seven weeks feeling more confident in how I use digital tools to make learning meaningful for every student.
