Welcome, Detectives!
On this page, you will see four images. Each image opens a different Magic School Escape Room. Click on them in order to uncover the clues you need to solve The Case of the Missing Manuscript.
A manuscript is the first full version of something before it’s shared with the world. Authors use manuscripts for books, but creators like MrBeast also use them when planning huge videos. It’s basically the complete script, ideas, plans, and storyline all written down before anything gets filmed.
In this mystery, the missing manuscript belongs to MrBeast, one of the world's most popular creators. He was about to record a brand-new mega-challenge video, one that had never been revealed to anyone, until his entire manuscript suddenly disappeared. Without it, the video can’t be filmed.
The thief left behind coded clues hidden inside different types of sentences.
Only detectives who understand sentence structure can break the codes and help MrBeast recover the missing manuscript.
Your mission:
Click each image to enter the Escape Rooms in order.
Complete the five-sentence challenges in each room.
Collect your clue piece after each room.
Use all four clues to solve the final puzzle and reveal where MrBeast’s manuscript is hidden.
Stay sharp. Think like a detective. MrBeast is counting on you.
Great work, Detective.
You’ve completed all four escape rooms and collected every clue needed to solve the mystery.
Now it’s time for the final step:
Use the clues you earned to figure out where MrBeast’s missing manuscript is hidden.
On the right side of this page, you’ll find the Google Form.

Stay sharp, your final answer awaits.
Reflection: Designing My Micro Learning Escape Room Project
For my final project I wanted to create something I could use right away in my classroom. That is why I built a micro learning experience on sentence structure using Magic School AI and a branching Google Form. My goal was to design an activity that was engaging, simple to follow, and supportive for students.
Breaking the lesson into four escape rooms helped my students focus on one skill at a time. They worked through simple sentences, compound sentences, complex sentences, and then learned how to combine multiple clauses to create compound complex sentences. Keeping each room focused made the learning clear and easier for students to manage.
Magic School AI was a major part of the project. Each room had a detective style chatbot that gave instant feedback when students got a problem right or wrong. If a student made a mistake, the bot explained what happened and gave a helpful hint. This instant support is something that can be hard to provide to everyone during class, so the AI allowed every student to get help the moment they needed it.
I also added short YouTube refresher videos for each sentence type. These videos gave students a quick reminder before they entered the escape rooms and made the whole experience feel more connected.
The final part of the project was a branching Google Form. Students used the clues they earned from each room to solve the final mystery. If they chose the wrong answer, the form gave them instant feedback and sent them back to try again. If they chose correctly, they moved forward in the story. This created a fun ending that still supported the learning goals.
Overall, this project allowed me to combine emerging technology with instruction I already use. It created a learning experience that is interactive and supportive, and something I can use with my students right away.
