Module 4 focused on examining the current hurdles, opportunities, and resilience strategies in digital learning and digital transformation within K–12 and higher education. This module emphasized the importance of understanding technology integration not only at the classroom level but also in the broader institutional and national context.
Through the CoSN Driving K–12 Innovation 2024 Report and the EDUCAUSE 2024 Top 10: Institutional Resilience framework, I explored the ways in which schools and universities face challenges such as scaling innovation, addressing staffing needs, and ensuring equitable access to reliable technology. The module required me to identify how these national issues appear in my own professional setting as a 6th grade ELA teacher, where technology integration is strong but often tested by device shortages, network slowdowns, or service outages.
A major focus of this module was on Generative AI as a transformative tech enabler and the need for continuous professional development to ensure teachers can use emerging tools effectively. This connected directly to my district’s AI pilot with Magic School and Magic Student, highlighting how resilience requires both technical infrastructure and human capacity-building.
