Splash

(SplSpl/nSpl/-) Splash

Splash is a white mark that makes the algo look like it was dipped in paint. The marking originates from the belly and feet of the algo and spreads upwards. It generally does not touch the back or topline, nor the ears. Edges should be hard and may have mapping or fur texture. The marking itself should be relatively smooth and flowing without holes or clear separate pieces, though it may have 'mountains' where white reaches higher than the rest.  Splash can show on just the legs, similar to Stocking, but from a glance it must appear as one flowing mark though the import.   (We look at the shape overall, so if it shows on just the lower portion of the legs it should still look like a flowing single mark if we drew a line over the shape and design.)

(nSpl Single Allele

With a single allele carrier the image below represents the minimum areas splash must affect. Minimal Splash should have at least 2 locations showing but does not need to fill the entire area. Splash can be 'hidden' under other white marks and should originate from the belly up.

(SplSpl) Dominant
In double allele carrier of Splash, the range is extended to include part of the topline, the hips, and full tail. The face can also show a 'bald face' or fully white, without affecting the ears.

Variation:

Splash can have a slight nuance to show skin or a variance of color.

• Splash sits above non-white marks and may be hidden underneath other white marks.

• Splash can optionally cover the fore legs, or the legs can be colored via Pigeon freemark. 

• Splash can have fur texture on furred areas but the overall shape should be a smooth flowing mark.

• Splash can be affected by Reversal, turning the marking dark or black.
