Saddle

(SdSd/nSd) Saddle

A darkening of the dorsal area of an algolope, often spanning from mid-neck to the base of the tail. 

(nSd) Single Allele

With a single allele carrier, at minimum the shoulder area should have a darker marking, and shoulder generally remain within the Maximum range. Saddle should be one continuous mark without stray pieces and connected, however it can have shaped or odd edges.

(SdSd) Dominant
In double allele carrier of Saddle, the mark can reach to the back of the head and the base of the tail. Saddle does not touch the belly or skin areas.

Variation:

Saddle can have it's own nuance or a slight fade closer to the belly.

• Saddle sits over the base coat but under most markings, Sooty and Roan sit over Saddle.

• Saddle can have shaped edges as long as the marking is one continuous piece and has no floating parts.

• With '+' Modifier there can be an additional color showing in the saddle, either as a striping of color, with solid edges, or a soft blended gradient.

• Saddle can use colors from the Natural Accents Slider as long as it's darker than the base coat.
