Blanket

(BlBl/nBl) Blanket

A white  or lighter colored marking that covers the majority of the rump and sometimes the entire back legs of an algolope. Does not extend to the tail on single copy. Reverse Blanket turns the white to black or darker than the base coat. Blanket can be hard edged or soft and can have holes cut into the marking, showing marks below. 

(nBl) Single Allele

With a single allele, Blanket is often restricted to just the hips or the back legs of the Algolope, not touching the tail aside from the base area.

(BlBl) Dominant
In double allele, Blanket can cover the entire tail, or minimally the hips and part of the tail. 

Variation: 

Blanket can be white, offwhite, or lighter than the base coat.

• Blanket can sit above or below most markings,  but sits above all other markings if white. Blanket can layer with other white marks such as tobiano.

• Blanket can cover all or part of the legs, but must originate from the hips region.

• Blanket can have mixed hard and soft edges and may have holes.

• Blanket should be lighter than the base coat unless it's affected by Reversal, it then becomes black or darker than the base coat.
