One Moto Show Intro

Rubric

This draft is a formative assessment in preparation for a summative.

Review the rubric on the right. The levels for ISTE 6 are the ones we have been using for this entire unit on drawing tablets.

Standards:

  • (ISTE 6: Creative Communicator) Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.

  • 1.A.2 Creates new and worthwhile ideas using both incremental and radical concepts

Choose a Category

  1. Decide what you want to design:

    • Helmet

    • Vans

    • Skateboard

    • Sticker

    • Sign

  2. Get the corresponding draft paper from the counter.

Draft 3 Ideas

  1. Think of three different types of illustrations

  2. Sketch them out on the paper in the three spots.

  3. Leave the area with lines blank (this is for critique)

Reference Photos & Copyright

Reference photos can help you understand how real-life 3D things look 2D (on a computer/ on paper), or how to draw in a specific style.

However, because this work is no longer for "practice" and will be displayed and shared out in the world, it is important to keep in mind copyright laws.

  • It is best to find references from copyright-free websites like Pexels.

  • You will need to avoid using trademarked logos, images of celebrities, movies, TV shows, books, songs, and sports teams/mascots in your work or as references.

  • You will also need to avoid using others' unique artwork, drawings, paintings, illustrations, etc. as references.

  • It is best to use multiple references to create your work. Using only one reference for your whole piece is generally not allowed as you are just creating a derivative of someone else's work.

  • You may not simply trace someone else's helmet/vans/skateboard design.

Wait for Mrs. Hodges' cue to continue.
