Think of a theme to tie your font together and make it unique.
Remember unity and harmony? The principles of design? Time to make sure your font has unity/harmony.

On both pages of the printed template, fill in each individual box for each character.
Make sure to keep a consistent cap height, x-height, baseline, and descender line.
Write your name in the top right corner of both papers.
Take photos of your template pages (or ask Mrs. Hodges to)
Email the photos to yourself or download Mrs. Hodges' photos of it from the Google Drive folder
Go to: https://www.calligraphr.com
Log in. (You should already have an account from the Handwriting Font assignment)
In Calligraphr click "MY FONTS" in the top left purple menu bar
Click the three dots in the gray menu bar and click "Delete Font" (you can only have one font at a time).
Click "Upload Template" in gray menu bar
Click "Choose File" and locate the first template photo in your downloads folder.
Click "UPLOAD TEMPLATE"
Once it is finished processing, click "ADD CHARACTERS TO YOUR FONT"
Do the same for the second template photo.
Sometimes the template photos don't upload perfectly and some of your characters might have extra lines that will mess up your typeface. To edit:
Click on a character and then click "EDIT CHARACTER"
To erase extras, click the trash bin icon under "Eraser"
Erase what you need to
Click "SAVE AND CLOSE"
Repeat as needed with other characters.
Click "Build Font"
Adjust the Font Name to be "First Name's Draft Font" (Ex: "Bob's Draft Font")
Click "BUILD"
Click on the file ending with ".ttf" to download.
Install your font by either:
Double click the download at the bottom left of your browser then click "Install" in the popup window.
Open your "Downloads" folder, right-click on the .ttf file and click "Install"
Open Adobe Illustrator file from the Handwriting Font assignment. (Leave your handwriting font on the page.)
Copy and paste your text "Hello my name is (first name) ABCD..." (click "ctrl" and "C" to copy and then "ctrl" and "Z" to paste)
Highlight the copy and click "Character" at the top.
Search for your font's name (it should be your first name at the start)
Go to "File" > "Save" to make sure to save your .aic file.
Go to "File" > "Export" > "Export As..."
Click "Creative Cloud Files" folder on the left menu
Name: "Last Name, First Name, Draft"
Choose "JPEG" and check "Use Artboards" and click "Export"
In the "JPEG Options" pop-up slide Quality to 10, for Resolution choose "High (300 ppi)" and click "OK"
Turn in your .jpg file on Canvas in the "Font Draft" assignment.
