Color Your Island
Use the following techniques to color your island:
Ways to COlor
There are multiple ways that you can create areas of color in Illustrator:
Pen Tool
Use the "Pen Tool" with a fill color
Paintbrush Tool
Use the "Paintbrush Tool" with a stroke color
Blob Brush Tool
Use the "Blob Brush Tool" with a stroke color
Paintbrush vs. Blob
When you use the "Paintbrush Tool" you are creating path lines that have thickness around them.
When you use the "Brush Blob Tool" you are creating shapes where the final path is outlining the full shape.
Layers & color
Remember you can layer your areas of color so you don't have to trace around each object:
Create new layers in the "Layers" panel
Right-click on objects/paths, click "Arrange" >
Create a Background
In your "Layers" panel, make a new layer and rename it "Background" then drag down to the bottom.
Click on the "Rectangle tool" in the left toolbar
Click and drag to create a rectangle that covers your artboard.
Double click the black square on the bottom of the left toolbar to open the "Color Picker"
Choose a color.
Save as .AIC and .PDF
Go to "File" > "Save" to make sure to save your .aic file (if it is grayed out then it is already saved).

Choose "On your computer"
Click "Creative Cloud Files" folder on the left menu
Name: "Last Name, Floating Island (with Color)"
