The me|REKA Co-working Makerspace proposed project’s climate-responsive façade design originated with analysis of the local sun-path that is located at Putrajaya Prescient 8.
Façade studies analyzing the solar-path determined the shape and depth of the horizontal shading device , which also double act as light-reflector to act as natural lighting. The light reflector happens at one of horizontal shading device at the every corner of façade to eliminate the excessiveness and create a slick look for the façade.
The horizontal shading devices also assist in establishing comfortable micro-climates in habitable spaces along the building’s interior. The intensity of solar radiation in hot humid climates such as Malaysia is generally high and uniform throughout the year. Building surfaces exposed to the sun such as windows, walls, and roofs that can admit heat/water. This leading to an increase in the amount of energy needed for cooling purposes when hot season.
