Design Pre-thesis 3 | Sustainable Technologies
Induced natural ventilation design strategy is a tool to achieve a natural ventilated spaces with restricted conditions. This study was focusing on providing a naturally ventilated space that still comply to the children thermal comfort in term of academic exhibition area. The strategy was to configure the best building orientation and introduce solar chimney to induced the natural ventilation into the spaces. The performance of this strategy was simulated in Autodesk Flow Design and Autodesk CFD to study of impact of various configuration and compare the result for effective arrangement and placement of each of these environmental strategies into the building scheme. Based on simulated solar chimney modules, performance for each of different design of solar chimney can be identified and will help in the planning of the spatial program to control the spaces with targeted thermal comfort or specific type of users. Keywords: air exchange, natural ventilation, thermal comfort
