Design Pre-thesis 3 | Sustainable Technologies
Using daylight as part of an integrated and controlled lighting strategy is a key component of a sustainable, environmental approach to architectural design. An atrium is potentially a major source of daylight for deep plan buildings and offers other environmental benefits in terms of solar gain, reduced energy losses and natural ventilation. Day lighting design needs to consider orientation, building site characteristics, facade and roof characteristics, size and placement of window openings, glazing and shading systems, and geometry and reflectance of interior surfaces. Good day lighting design ensures adequate light during daytime. A.I. has huge potential to help to solve various problems faced by the society. It is important to note that the role of A.I. is not simply to improve operational efficiency or to lower costs. Rather, A.I. will also take on the role of improving the quality of services in various industries.
