Design Pre-thesis 1 | Urban Study
Jalan Ampang is one of the predominant roads in the KLCC area which connects straight to the Petronas Twin Towers, Jalan Ampang is a green and shady stretch of road that is backed by a good network of public transportation. It is the main nerve of all the road in Kuala Lumpur such as Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang, Tun Razak and etc. However due to the negative issues such as acts of vandalism, including graffiti, abound as can be seen on fire hydrants, garbage bins, lifts, parking meters and public signboards the art perceived in a negative light because of their existence and the fact that they are commonly seen in public places where they are surrounded by dirty environments and less than favorable exhibition space. To identify these problem, a research has been carried out by certain method such as literature review, survey method and questionnaire. The purpose of these study is to identify the potential of an art gallery as a center to bring new perspective in Contemporary Art and create a sustainable space for healthy dialogue.
