A Game Pitch for an Open World Third Person Narrative Driven Simulation Game About ADHD Targeted at Young Adults Ages 18-25

Sky Lalata

ADHD is a mental disorder characterized by inattention, impulsivity, and in some cases hyperactivity. It is a common yet often misunderstood disorder surrounded by myths and misconceptions. This lack of understanding for the condition leads to people with ADHD being stigmatized. People with ADHD are often called stupid and lazy for their condition, some even believe the condition does not exist and is merely being used as an excuse to slack off and be inefficient. It is often seen and diagnosed in children but can persist into adulthood and can become extremely problematic if left untreated.

A life simulation videogame about ADHD where the player controls a character with ADHD can help people better understand the condition and the struggles people with ADHD normally face. This videogame is meant to simulate the debilitating experience in addition to the staple features of casual simulation games. It has fantastic themes based on alchemy in the renaissance period. It has anime inspired visual style to hook players into a magical world, all the while portraying very real problems people with ADHD face. It also has an access mode for people with disabilities or those who wish to play leisurely, making the game more customizable to suit the player’s needs for a smoother gameplay experience.
