A Computer Game to Bridge the Gap in Quality of Information in Nutrition Through Game-Based Learning Aimed at Filipino Teenagers Aged 16 to 19

This is a study on embedded nutritional learning in computer games focusing on the fad diets ketogenic dieting and intermittent fasting as its core mechanic. It contextualizes the facts about nutrition and dieting in the Filipino culture on food and family systems, discusses online to offline transition of information, the cognitive development and autonomy of the demographic, and the elements required in educational and engaging video game development. This study emphasizes support systems like friends and professionals, consistency on a chosen lifestyle such as exercising regularly, and the core rule of dieting: balance, variety, and moderation


The visual solution is composed of unique 2D hand drawn assets ranging from characters to enemies, items, and area assets and a wireframe screenflow of the game. It has a warm color palette, uses easily recognizable shapes, and dyslexia-friendly fonts. It is an Action-Adventure Role-Playing Game with Roguelike game mechanics.

ARP is a graphic designer and illustrator. They dabble in a lot of indie video games in their free time.
