Miguel Flores

Due to the limitations and restrictions brought by the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the researcher had a desire to take advantage of the situation where everyone is at the safety of their homes by finding alternative ways to engage children in one of the basic life skills that must be encouraged to learn which is cooking or food preparation. The study seeks to encourage the facilitation of cooking activities to engage children in order for them to acquire its benefits, such as improvement of their lifestyle and acquisition of a sense of responsibility and independence. With a study like this, the researcher hopes to support initiatives that will promote creative ways to engage or expose children as early as possible.

In the advent of technology today, the considered one of the best ways to engage children is through the development of interactive and gamified e-learning materials – that being said, the researcher proposes an interactive cooking application build with the consideration on the distinct taste of the current generation when it comes to graphics and gameplay.
