Training workshop on Paediatric HAL for staff of the Department of Medicine, FMHS

Dr Carlos Chidiac, MD, Regional Manager of Gaumard Scientific was in Mauritius for a hands-on training workshop on Paediatric HAL held for one and a half days at the Core building of Ebene, on 14 and 15th March 2024 for the academic staff and the technical support staff of the Department of Medicine. 

The workshop was coordinated by Associate Professor Ganessen Chinien from the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) and Mr Salim Doobory from MediSystems Ltd.

The Paediatric HAL, donated by WHO to support the newly set up Family Medicine programme commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, will contribute to enhance training through simulation in the Department of Medicine. 

Such innovative training is important for the safe acquisition of clinical skills in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training programmes, for practicing and maintaining skills for those who are involved in medical care.
