The University of Mauritius (UoM) in collaboration with the Universite de Lorraine (UL, France) organized the first International Conference on SESAI 2024 at the Ravenala Attitude Hotel, Balaclava, from 3rd to 6th June 2024.
The Honourable Georges Pierre Lesjongard, Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, officially opened the inaugural edition of the conference in the presence of the numerous local and foreign delegates as well as representatives of the public and private institutions.
SESAI 2024 featured five keynote presentations by internationally renowned experts along with 8 oral sessions featuring over 35 presentations showcasing the latest research findings from different countries including France, India, South Africa, Togo, UK, Reunion, Canada, Mauritius, Ghana and Nigeria.
They highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector, including the need to integrate increasing amounts of renewable energy into the grid, and the potential for AI to play a key role in enabling this transition.
