An International Conference on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) is being held at the University of Mauritius from the 15th to 17th August 2023 with the aim of sharing knowledge and data about the concept, practices, and benefits of CSA in different crops and different settings locally and internationally.
Stakeholders will be sensitised to the immense possibilities that CSA has for enabling planters to become resilient, earning a livelihood even with climate change, while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The conference is being organised in the context of an ongoing farmer-participative project, funded by the EU with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Australian Government.
The Opening Ceremony was held on Tuesday 15 August 2023 at the Long Beach Hotel of Belle Mare in the presence of The Hon. Maneesh Gobin, The Hon. Soomilduth Bholah and The Hon. Mrs. Leela Devi Dookun Luchoomun, GCSK.
