To mark the World Food Safety Day 2024 celebrated every 7th June, the Faculty of Agriculture has organised a training on "Safe Use of Food Additives in Processed Foods" in RBLT, UoM this Friday morning.
This training provides an overview on the types and uses of food additives and existing Regulatory bodies for food additives. Participants will learn how to select, calculate the required amount to be added to foods, and how to store them properly.
It also highlights key findings from a research work on the types and prevalence of Food additives in foods sold on the Mauritian market. It will unveil the current practices and challenges faced by SMEs.
The training session is being attended by 40 enterprises. The resource persons are Dr (Mrs) D.Harnarun Etwaroo, Associate Professor D Goburdhun & Associate Prof A Ruggoo.
