Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) iCoP meeting will be held Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 from 9:30-10:30am, online.

Here is the agenda:

-- DegreeCat Project Overview (Santiago Fernandez-Gimenez, Matt Plachejo, & Richard Balderrama, 15 min) - Members of the DegreeCat team will present an overview of this recently-chartered project. The "Degree" portion stands for Degree Planning and the "Cat" portion is short for Catalog and Curriculum Management. The project will entail plenty of data integration and system implementation work, but at its core, the effort will be about improving the quality, consistency, and utility of curricular data with an eye toward improving the student planning experience. The presentation will share some user experience findings about trust in current systems, and provide an update on the current status of work that has begun.

-- Enterprise Data & Analytics update (Paul Volkmuth & Ed Chavez, 15 min) - Paul Volkmuth from EDA will provide an update on the ongoing work being done within the UM Analytics Technology roadmap, including core upgrade work, new feature evaluation and the next-gen proof of concept with Oracle Cloud. Ed Chavez from EDA will give a short demonstration on Datasets and Dataflows, which are powerful new features that are being evaluated as part of the UM Analytics upgrade work.

-- OIT Integration Team updates (Tim Gagner, 5 min) - Brief status update.

-- Unizin Data Platform June 2021 update (Chris Scruton, 15 min) - In March 2021, the University of Minnesota team completed the work necessary to ingest University student information system data into UMN's Unizin Data Platform (UDP) tenant. Now that the University's production tenant is operational, this presentation will provide an overview of planned UMN access-request workflows, preview UMN research and analytics projects projected to consume UDP data; and review noteworthy UDP projects currently under way at Unizin peer institutions.
