All,
Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) iCoP meeting will be held Tuesday, February 12th, 2019, from 9:30am to 10:30am(ish), in 402 Walter Library.
Here is the agenda:
-- Office of Internal Audits perspective on account management (Quinn Gaalswyk; 15-20 min) - Audits are one of the most important mechanisms the University has for self-assessment of its practices/procedures, and with an institution as decentralized as ours, audits of IT operations are critical in mitigating risk and improving transparency. In this talk, Quinn will join us to discuss account management, including industry best practices, audit methods, common findings at the U, provisioning/deprovisioning, and more. There will be time for Q & A as well, so bring any burning questions you have.
-- All things UCard data integration (Mark Skweres; 10-15 min) - Do you pull data from UCards? Run card swipe-based systems? Wonder where this space is headed in the future? Thought so.
-- Kubernetes containerization: why you need to care about this (Kendrick Erickson; 10-15 min) - It should be no surprise that many folks in the IDEAA community run applications that integrate data from multiple systems, which is why - if you haven’t already - you should learn more about Kubernetes and containerization, how it can address common pain points you likely have, and what next steps you can take. This talk is all about that.
-- Data Governance: Common Dimensions update (Amy Schult; 5 min) - Brief update regarding the “Names” dimension and related efforts underway.
